Does it go through the onsite hotels and if so does it stop like in the Disneyworld Magic Kingdom hotels?

thanks

Welcome! It DOES go through the Grand Californian and, to be honest, it's really cool for the kids to sit out on the balcony and watch it!

But, there is not the equivalent stops as you have at WDW. To be fair, it's not really needed. GCH is 5 minutes away from the main gate and Disney Land Hotel is 10 minutes away, and 2-3 minutes away from the monorail. The only resort that might benefit from having a stop is Paradise Pier but that's questionable.

Because DLR is so compact between the 2 parks and the 3 hotels, you should think of the Monorail more as a ride that just happens to go outside the walls rather than as a transportation option.

At DLR, it only has two stops - in Tomorrowland, and in Downtown Disney. It does loop through DCA and the Grand Californian, but doesn't stop. It can shorten your walk from the Disneyland Hotel into the park, but it's still outside the hotel grounds. Also, at peak times, it can take longer to catch the monorail than to walk.

Really, it's more of an attraction than transportation.

Though it does make for an easy way out of the parks if you're near Tomorrowland and the fireworks just ended.

Yes and no. The Disneyland Monorail has two stops--Downtown Disney (just east of the Disneyland Hotel and west of the Grand Californian Hotel), and Tomorrowland, within Disneyland Park. Because it stops in Disneyland, you need to have valid theme-park admission in order to ride it. On its way from the Tomorrowland stop to the Downtown Disney stop, the monorail passes through the Brisa Courtyard at the Grand Californian, and through the structure of the hotel, itself. But it does not stop and its passage is not visible from within the hotel. You can, however, watch it go by overhead when in the courtyard, or from courtyard-facing guest rooms.

The monorail at WDW seems like transportation, the monorail at DLR does a pretty wide loop through Tomorrowland, and you pass all kinds of iconic attractions - you can practically touch the Matterhorn you're so close!

As PP have said, only a stop in DTD, but literally steps away from the GCH property and the DLH is only a 2-3 minute walk.

Does the entrance to the Monorail at Disneyland work the same way as the entrances at the park? Like if we present an E-ticket to an event, would they able to process it and give us a ticket upon entry?

We were planning to have lunch at the the Earl of Sandwiches in Downtown Disney before heading to the MHP. Never rode the monorail so I thought it would be fun too.

In most ways, it is exactly the same, however, I don't know how it works with MHP. I know they didn't have the treat bags at the Monorail entrance, if nothing else.
