We are wanting to spend the morning at Mk and then hop over to Epcot for the afternoon. My question is how long will it take to get from MK to Epcot on the monorail? Or is it better to drive over? If we leave our car at MK how late does the monorail run back to there from Epcot? :goodvibes Thank you for your help!!

After you leave MK and walk the ramp to the Monorail, wait for monorail to arrive...5-10 minutes tops.
Actual ride to Epcot, 10-15 minutes. I believe the monorail can run up to an hour after Epcot closes, but I wouldn't push it....once Epcot is closed hop back on to MK.
I am digging into my flawed memory here, so may not be exact info.
We love the monorail and always take it, even when we have a car!

Thanks FINFAN. Yeah I just don't want to get stuck and not be able to get back to our car. :goodvibes

It's part of the majic to use the Disney transportation when I am there. :Pinkbounc

Remember you have to change trains at the TTC. Take the monorail from MK to TTC go down ramp and up the other side to the Epcot platform. With the transfer the trip should take about 20-25 minutes. If the Mk closes before Epcot there may not be a monorail back to the TTC when Epcot closes. If there is a monorail at that time the trams for the MK parking lot may not be running. Think very carefully about leaving your car at MK, you may have to do a lot of walking to get back to your car.

The monorail from Epcot to the TTC will be running at least an hour after closing as those staying at the Poly, GF, and CR need to get back to their hotels by transfering to the resort line at the TTC. Have fun and take the monorail!

If you take the monorail when My DH and I are on it....it will take approximately a day or so. No lie. We were stuck on it for 45min-1.25 hrs this about a week ago trying to get from MK to Epcot. You're safe, though, because we aren't heading back soon... :sad2:

Riding the monorail is fun so a plan 'B' might be to park at Epcot in the first place, then get the monorial to the MK for the morning, then return to Epcot later on where you can linger without rushing back to MK.

Cheers

With all the walking in the parking lots, I would guess the monorail would be quicker. It is definately more fun and a little less stressful as well.

Take the Monorail, it is an experience. You can ask, and wait for, a ride with the driver if you wish. You may have to wait a monorail or two if others are also waiting to ride up front.
I would definitely plan to park my car at the park where I will end the day. As another poster said, I would park at Epcot, and take the Monorail in the morning to the MK. You will get to ride the Monorail in each direction, and you will not have the stress of worrying about getting to your car in the MK parking lot.
Have a Great Trip!

:goodvibes Disney wont leave anyone stranded, if you miss the last monorail just ask a cm and they will get you to your car. :cool1:

I agree, put your car at Epcot. And as Hopefully said, ask for a ride up with the driver. I went once with my DD and 2 nephews. I enjoyed it more that the kids.

I agree, I would park the car at EPCOT in the am, take the monorail over to Magic, then monorail it back to EPCOT, enjoy your night, and the car is there waiting for you along with a tram to get you there! ENJOY!

The ride to and from MK to Epcot is great. We have lived in Orlando for 2 1/2 years, and my DD and I just did it for the first time a few months ago - most times we just do a park at a time.

I love riding the monorail at night, and do ASK to ride up front with the driver. My DD will almost always ask, but will give up our spot if someone who has never ridden up front asks while we are waiting!

I love that she does not yet take for granted the MAGIC of Disney and each visit is special!
