I hope this is posted in the right area...

Can anyone tell me when the monorail quits dropping off guests at the MK before the MVMCP? Will I be able to take a monorail from Epcot to the Contemporary after 6pm?

unless i'm missing something, the monorail shouldn't stop before the parties. there's still going to be many people at the parties who need it.

Last year during MNSSHP we were unable to take the monorail to the MK. It stopped at a certain time and everyone had to board a boat to arrive at the MK ~ it was not a fun experience.
This year I hope to bypass it.

The resort monorail should be up until at least 12:30am.

Normally, it's the ferry that shuts down early, not the monorails.

well either way, for your sake, there has to be SOME way to get to the CR from Epcot. maybe you'll luck out and there'll be a direct bus.

There is no direct bus from Epcot to the MK resorts. The only Disney Transport option is the monorail.

The Epcot monorail runs until Epcot is clear of day guests, the MK resort loop runs until at least 12:30am and sometimes later. All should be operating well after 6pm.

The only time there is a direct bus to the MK resorts is IF the monorail is down during it's operating hours, then you will see buses used until the monorail is again operating.

that wasn't my point :)

that was :)

OP asked what the possibility of no monorail beyond 6 was, so i was merely speculating that IF the monorail was stopped, some concessions would have to be made for those going from Epcot back to the monorail resorts.

Last year during MVMCP my family and who were staying at the Contemporary got the ride the Resort Monorail to the Polynesian and Grand Floridian after 7:00 PM when it started with no problems at all, because it was still operating for a long time because of the party. It also stopped at the Magic Kingdom for guests who were leaving the party and this was after 10:00 PM. I also saw some people getting of around that time, so I would assume they were staying at other WDW Resorts and were going to the Magic Kingom bus station to catch their bus.

Thanks for the tip! I am wondering when it stops operating before the party. I believe the party begins at 7pm. If I remember correctly, it stopped around 5:30pm. I am wondering what is the best way to take the monorail from Epcot to the Contemporary.
It's still early and the transportation details do not come out until a month prior, but I wanted to make dining reservations.

Thanks for your help!!

As several other posts have indicated, I don’t think the monorail stops before or during any of the parties (P&P, MVMC, MNSSH, even Night of Joy). If the monorail wasn’t running for some period of time on a given night, it seems more likely it was a temporary mechanical or operational issue. Afaik, the only private event during which Disney wouldn't run transportation to and from the Magic Kingdom would be Grad Night.
It makes NO sense to stop it at 5:30 or whatever, given that the Magic Kingdom is open to the entire Magic Your Way pass-holding public until 7 PM.

I agree... perhaps there was a miscommunication. I want to be sure before committing to a dining reservation I will be unable to keep. The overcrowded ferry experience was not one I will forget

Thanks!!

You're welcome and as others have already said the Resort Monorail does not stop running at anytime because MVMCP, MNSSHP, P&PP and Night Of Joy would not have officially statred until 7:00 PM. There are always going to be people who need to travel between the Contemporary, TTC, Polynesian and Grand Floridian, so it does not make sense that it shuts down. So I will say like the others that the only way the Resort Monorail will stop running is if there was a mechanical problem with it.
