Monorail is down

Dunno if its planned or for how long but they've got much larger boats on the resort ferries now.

Hope it's a planned thing for maintenance or testing purposes. Otherwise it's inconvenient for guests, and embarrassing for Disney.

Epcot's monorail appears to be running but the resort and express are both down with the cars all parked in various stations on the routes.

It's bad enough it's a cold and rainy day and we had planned on monorail resort hopping...

They hardly ever have the monorails up and running for PARK OPENING at MK anymore. It gets ridiculous because they pack you in like sardines on the ferry boats and you don't get to the gates as early as you'd like.

Whenever there has been a problem with a monorail at Park Opening they always had a fleet of buses ready to pick up the slack. They fill the buses very quickly and then they let you off right at the front gate. They didn't have these buses for you?

We must have gotten lucky. We left MK today on express monorail at 3:15. We did have to hold for traffic at Poly for about 5 minutes.

This is why we don't stay at monorail resorts anymore. The monorail is too unreliable.
Definitely makes those high prices a bit ridiculous when you can't use the one thing that gives those resorts an edge

Hardly. We haven't used the resort monorail in years and stay at the Poly every year. The edges are the views, location (easy path access to GF), the resort launch to MK (much more fun than the monorail), easy access to Epcot, and overall ambiance. If you're staying at a monorail resort just because of the monorail then you shouldn't be there. Besides, the monorail is far more reliable than people on here say. We watch them from the balcony and they run quite reliably actually but it isn't popular to say that on a Disney board.

To each his own. We simply do not stay in these resorts because we spend too little time at our resort to justify the cost. But for those who choose to stay in a "monorail" resort you should have the monorail at your disposal during all hours of operation.
The monorail is a Disney icon. As a person who's love of Disney started with a stay at the Contemporary in the late 70s with that monorail running straight through making a lasting impression on me it's sad to hear that they are running sometimes on limited schedules or suddenly not at all.

I absolutely agree. We hardly ever take the monorail when we stay at the Poly, other than to Epcot. We much prefer the TTC ferry or resort boats.

If they have, they haven't let guests know about it very well... I haven't seen them.
