How early does it start running?

We have an 8am ADR at 'Ohana and are planning to visit Epcot after.

The plan was to park at Epcot, get the monorail to breakfast and go straight to the park from there.

But will we be able to get a resort-bound monorail from Epcot that early?

If need be, we'll park at the Poly, then drive to Epcot after, but I was hoping not to.

There is no direct resort monorail from Epcot. You'll have to go to the main TTC, then get on the resort monorail.

The parking lot might open at 8 (I assume the park opens at 9), but you won't have enough time to get from Epcot to the TTC and then to Poly.

You can also walk from the TTC to the Poly very easily.

The parking lot is open way before 8:00 - I'm not sure that it even really closes.

No, the Epcot Monorail will not be running before 8 a.m.

3 options:

  1. Park at Poly, then drive to Epcot.
  2. Pay to valet park at Poly, which entitles you to leave your car there all day. Then you can walk to TTC and take the monorail to Epcot. At night, take the monorail back to TTC, then transfer to Resort Monorail to Poly.
  3. Park at TTC (aka MK Parking), and walk to Poly. Then walk back to TTC for Epcot Monorail. At night Epcot Monorail back to TTC. You'll be parked close enough that you won't need to ride the parking lot tram. Walking from parking to TTC to Poly in a.m. will be a bit longish, but probably under 15 minutes; or you can just walk to the Resort Monorail station (opens at 7 a.m.) and ride it the rest of the way.

Thanks for all that!!

So rather than parking at Epcot and getting the monorail via MK TTC to Poly, it's better to cut out the middle man and just park at MK and go from there? Is that right?

Yes, but the MK parking is actually at TTC, so you'll be just a monorail away from both Poly & Epcot.

You might want to walk back to TTC from Poly because it's a 5 minute walk, as opposed to a 20 minute monorail ride. The resort monorail only goes one way around the loop, and Poly is the stop after TTC.

If you're staying at POFQ, turn left out of the entrance, then the first right as if you were going to Epcot, move into the far left lane, and follow signs to MK parking. The shortcut to the resorts past Fort Wilderness doesn't have access to the MK parking lot.

How do people at monorail resorts get to early ADRs at Akershus?

Good question ... for which I don't have a good answer.

Perhaps monorail to MK, then bus to BC, and enter thru IG? That might be cutting it close for an 8 a.m. ressie, with the monorail opening at 7.

Or WL by bus from MK or boat from CR, and bus from there to Epcot? The boats from CR start at 6:45 (but if you're a Poly or GF guest, you have to wait for the monorail to get you there.)

I am not aware of breakfast buses from the monorail resorts to Epcot, but there might be.
