This had crossed my mind, but not having the time to hunt down where the two would be built kept me from mentioning it.

okay this may just be my strange mind - but does anyone think that is way to get back at Fairfield - you know give the property close to it to this bullet train - because they will be kinda close to WWoS too.... (of course so will be Pop Century - so I guess I lose that argument)

I guess that rules out a DVC resort close to WWoS,too - right?

If Disney wanted to cause any problems for Fairfield, they could have simply denied a right-of-way access to the WDW roadway infrastructure. The Fairfield project sits behind CBR and is a ways from the proposed train station site. As it stands now, Disney has provided an entryway access for that property to utilize the WDW roads- near CBR, OKW, BWV, MGM, Epcot, etc. They could have forced Fairfield to create their access thru the side of that property not bounded by Disney (it is bounded on three sides by Disney)- the drive to a park would have increased by several miles from the resort. I'm sure that Fairfield's access came at a pretty price and that Disney doesn't need to get back at them for anything. :smooth:

I figure DVC'ers will pay the same price as those staying in the off property hotels by DTD. People who get packages will get the transfers included. Mears vs train is an interesting scenario. As a solo traveler I would have at most 3 bags when I arrive (food/other bag), overnight bag, regular bag. Right now I only have to be a pack mule to the Mears desk and then sit and wait for the bus/van. With a train I'd have to pack mule my way to the train desk (under the assumption Disney won't do squat for people going ala carte...and dvc'ers). Assuming I can "check" my luggage I'd wait for the next train, take it to TTC2 then wait for a bus & take that to my resort, figure out what happened to my luggage and then check in. Versus the straight shot on Mears. I'm wondering if Disney has overpromised what they can deliver in terms of passengers...unless they are going to force taxi services to deliver and pick up from TTC2 only.

I will say that taxi services to Newark/Liberty were hurt by Airtrain/NJTransit connection...but after using it a few times I've gone back to the now less expensive taxi services to get to the airport and then using the train to get home. To put it in perspective...all train is like $45 including a short taxi ride to and from the house. Train/Taxi about $70. Taxi only maybe $110/$120. These are r/t prices. Why would I pay the extra? To make sure I make my flight & decrease aggravation where it needs to be decreased. Of course best bet is the Friends Taxi...free! It wouldn't surprise me if the price of Mears decreased just enough to make sure people choose them over the train. Then I guess the good folks of Florida will be stuck paying for subsidized transportation from MCO to WDW.

I do think the TPA aspect is outstanding. It will increase the options for people flying into Florida.
