Monorail Drink-A-Thon

Also I noticed that the Dis now has a college board and there was a thread on there about drinking in the parks. The poor kiddies were getting yelled at by older dis-ers for suggesting getting "buzzed" in the parks. I recommended they come here and make some new friends and maybe share a beer or two or five! :drinking1

I stayed far away from that thread. There are people all over these boards who feel the need to stick their morals on other people. Tad annoying.

I just notice I'm almost to the 90 day mark. That means I can make PS's soon, right? Problem is, can't get the fam to decide on restaurants.

One thing we all agreed upon was the Drink Around the World. I've talked everyone into it.

Well...I'm BACK!!!

I have good news and bad news...

The good news is I finished the half marathon and set a personal record!! Woohoo!!

The bad news is my favorite bartender is no longer working at the TL...total bummer... :sad1: Now I have to break in a new one...but ultimately I know it is for the good of the cause!!! lol

:earboy2:

Congrats Aisleleven! That's really great. I'm sorry that you lost your favorite bartender, now you will have to mold a new one. You know that means you will have to spend extra time with him/her ordering drinks over and over until they get them exactly how you like them! :D

Lady Archer- A chocolate martini has chocolate liquor (I've only ever seen places use Godiva, but I'm sure there is other types as well). I think there is also vodka in there and they drizzle chocolate inside the glass. For a little twist on the basic chocolate martini you can have a milky way martini. If I remember correctly its' chocolate liquor, vanilla vodka, and coconut rum. (I'm unsure if it really is vanilla vodka, but I believe it is). Anyways, reeeeeeeally good! They serve them at Houlihans, if youre looking for a place to try one! Get one as dessert after dinner!

DMB- As for other people mouthing their overbearing opinions at me, that's fine. They'll get me heated and I'll dish back 2x. Esp on the topic of alcohol, when I know I have all my lushes here I can come to! :cool1:

BTW does anyone know why I have a green dot in the bottom left hand corner? Everyone else has purple!

Hey - I have a green dot too!! My curiosity has been aroused.

So, great news for me!! I just found out I have a work conference in Tampa at the end of March. It is only a small amount extra to extend my flight to Orlando when it is over, so I am getting a four day unexpected trip to the World!! Just when I was lamenting the lack of a trip to plan! I immediately called my daughter (who is 22 and a seasonal cast member) who has agreed to join me. Hooray - where to drink next? I might try the Boardwalk Drink-a-thon, but am worried it is a bit ambitious...

Congratulations Aisleleven! Were you able to enjoy your champagne?

Well, yes and no...I ended up not bringing it with me...I had already packed way too much...lol...

However...we all stopped and got a glass of champagne in France on Sunday night (after the marathon) on the way to dinner in Canada...and I am happy to report...it was very good!

I was planning to do a Monorail D-o-T on Monday night, but once I hobbled over to TL and got up on the barstool I could barely move...lol...so what's a girl to do? I just stayed put!!

DisneyaHolic23- The green dot means you're online! HAHAH so everytime we look at our own it's always green!

Disneyholic-Glad you will be getting another trip sooner than expected! What a great surprise! Oh, and BTW...I am showing my age. You know who comes from Boston, right? NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK! I got the two mixed up! LOL!

What no fried rice?????? I'm not going! I'll just continue my crawl around the world sans fried rice. WAAAAAAA!

WTG Aisleleven! My curiousity is aroused by that user name and all the green dots floating around!

PixieDust ~ Thanks for the chocolate martinie description sounds yummy!
DisneyAholic~ Why can't I ever get a work related trip to Disney, hmmm could it be because I teach school and alcohol isn't allowed on school functions?

Ladyarcher - I, too, am a teacher!! However, this year I am on a leave of absence because I am president of our Association! I am going to a union conference! After 18 years of teaching, FINALLY, a conference in the DW area! Actually, the NEA convention is in Orlando in 2006 - you should go!!
What do you teach??? :smooth:

Thank you , thank you, thank you...I am quite proud!! :cool1:

And sadly, no, "M" is no longer "working with the company" and that was the official word  However, one of the waiters told me (on the sly, of course) that it was pretty mutual....Anyway...they replaced him with another "M" so don't be confused...it is NOT the same guy!!

I had a great room at WL by the way...(Got a "marathon/frequent guest upgrade" - lol - room 6143 - inner courtyard view - I was over looking the pool and the lake and I could see the Geyser go off from the balcony...2 Queen beds by the way...no bunk beds...but it really was lovely.

Ok...to put an end to all the curiosity around my silly ole member name...it is from an old inside joke and it sounds like my name

Really, it's not all that mysterious...lol :smooth:

Whew! I finally read through all 500-something posts! I have a question about the limit on drinks: Do they only allow 1 drink, or is it 2? This is per restaurant/bar/stand? Does this limit apply only in the parks, or does it apply in the resorts and throughout all of WDW?

I think the limit is 1 drink per person in all Disney bars. The other people don't have to be at the bar when you order, but the bartender needs to actually see the other people drinking. I think this may be a Florida law.

I dont think I understand your question. Are you asking how many drinks you can buy at a time? I know they gave me and my friends a hard time about only getting one drink at a time to make sure we didn't give them to anyone else who couldnt techincally be drinking them (we were only 21 at the time). However if you're clearly an adult I dont think they would give you too much of a problem. As for limiting the amount of times you come back to get more drinks, we were NEVER limited. Disney makes a ton of off alcohol! Esp at the pools! Well I guess if you were falling down they'd prolly stop serving you, lol but other than that, they're motto is: drink more, spend more!

For example, if I went to San Angel Inn and ordered a margarita with dinner, finished it, and ordered another... this is allowed, right? They won't say "you've had your one drink ma'am, now get out!" hehe.

I was (and still am) kind of confused by all of the many different wordings of this.

Fla law is one drink per person when you order.

so's if three of you in your group want something alcoholic, there
needs to be 3 people of legal drinking age there when you order... It does'nt
have to be the people drinking, just three legal adults for 3 drinks.
Getting multiple drinks for example during dinner is just fine.....
Every state has different liquor laws, and few are as confusing initially as
Florida...

It is most definately FL law. sigh.

Thank you! Finally got it cleared up in my befuddled mind! I can handle 1 drink at a time, as long as I get to order more later! :tilt:

The food at the Japanese pavilion is awesome...but not very filling...portions are the smallest in the 'World'

I stayed in 6143 the very first time I ever stayed at WL (and the only time as a regular guest--now i stay in villas) and it was the PERFECT view and room. Awesome!
