We'll be staying at the Disneyland Hotel (this coming weekend). I was wondering how crowded the Monorail gets in the morning for the ride over to the park - and then at night for the ride back to the hotel?

I would imagine that at times, it may be faster to simply walk?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

First...I don't know.

I could be TOTALLY off as we never used it our last trip but isn't the monorail a fair distance away from the DLH? Walking takes around 10 min....but if there's lines I'd forgo the rail unless you really need it.

If you are wanting to get there at opening, to take advantage of the lower crowds, or to make it onto Peter Pan or Nemo quickly before the lines get ridiculous, then I'd walk. The monorail doesn't always get going immediately, and it could put you behind the wave.

Walking, you can get to the gates 30 minutes early and be near the front, and walk onto your rides of choice.

I kind of like the monorail for getting out of the parks midday for a break. Staying at DLH, you can take it back and swim or nap in your room, while the crowds are at their highest midday. We always liked having an early dinner in DTD and then taking the monorail back into the park afterward.

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

I'm going to be at the DLH as well. We are just planning on using the monorail when we want to go back for a quick nap or after being in the parks all day long and our "dogs are barking"!!! Didn't see much need to use it first thing in the morning when it's really not that far to walk when your feet are "fresh".
