DH and I have started doing a monorail date while DD stays at the Neverland Club. She loves it and we love our adult WDW time!:thumbsup2

So here's my question, before we did bites and drinks at Tambu, Mizner's, and The Wave lounge. I was wondering about ADR's for apps. and drinks at Signature restaurants...like Narcoossee's, Citricos, and AP at the WL?

We wanted to do these as we love AP but haven't eaten there in 3 years, and have never done the other two! Should we make ADR's for apps. and drinks or do we just wander in to see if there is availablity?

We thought we would extend our date and add a few more stops along the way, starting out on the boat to AP and then winding around the monorail via the CR!

Any suggestions or past experiences would be appreciated!

Thanks!:)

That actually sounds like fun. How much time do you have planned for all of this?

Just another suggestion for your date night; instead of taking the monorail from the Poly to the GF, walk along the lake. Its a very romantic setting.

OKW Lover that is an awesome idea. I'm glad it's the midway stop or DH may have to carry me!

Indy...when we did it in October, doing just the lounges (Mizner's, Tambu, and The Wave), we were only gone from DD for one and a half hours. She was so disappointed that we weren't gone longer!:lmao:

This time she said she could stay for 15 hours and that wouldn't be enough time!:thumbsup2

So I was thinking the adventure could last anywhere from 3 to 4 hours.

Any other thoughts?

The bar at Narcoossee's has a back railing, and somewhat more secluded corners on the ends. I don't know if they serve apps or dessert at the bar, but I know when we had a wait for a table the kids were spread out and no bother to anyone. I'm a bartender and therefore aware of kids at the bar being intrusive. I'm not sure if you could see the fireworks from that perspective, but it seems like it would be a good place to order, and wander outside when the fireworks start.

Have fun!

I know Territory Pass at the WL has appetizers offered. We had some yummy chicken wings there this past visit. I would make an ADR for just appys and drinks if I really wanted to get into a specific place. Have fun, what a neat idea. :)

PrincessAtta...thanks for the Narcoossee's information! I think we'll wander in to test out their bar!;)

Teddy's...I'm glad to know the bar at AP has chicken wings, those are an obsession of mine as of late! Thanks for the info.:thumbsup2

So, now we are in for those two! I'm getting really excited about our date night and DD's trip to the Neverland Club!

You can order from the full menu at the bar at the California Grille; just get there by 10 pm.

This is how DH and I did this on our last trip:

We started at the Wilderness Lodge; and had a drink at the lounge at the Artist's Point Restaurant, while our kids ate dinner at the snack bar there. We had a flatbread pizza appetizer.

Then, we all took the resort launch to the Magic Kingdom; and we let the kids go into the park by themselves. Then, DH and I took the resort monorail to the Contemporary; and had a drink and sushi at bar inside the California Grill. The boat and the first monorail ride took about an hour – waiting for the boat, riding the boat and waiting for the monorail.

Then we got back on the monorail; and went to the Poly and had a drink at the Tambu lounge (the bartender said they only get 36 pineapples a day; so I had my Lapu Lapu in a tiki glass :teeth:).

Then back on the monorail again, and went to the GF; and had a drink in Mizner’s lounge. We watched the MK fireworks from here; there were special fireworks at 11:30 on 12/30.

Then back to the Magic Kingdom, to track down our kids; and took the bus back to Coronado Springs. Gotta love that Disney bus after the Monorail Crawl.

I loved that the elevator operator at California Grill instantly knew what we were doing; she said "Oh, are you going bar hopping?" when we got in the elevator. DH and I had a WONDERFUL evening. I would allow at least 5 hours for the way we did this. We started at WL at about 8 pm; and didn’t collect our kids until 12:30 pm.

Have fun planning your trip!

Thanks jlima! I love your timing analysis and play by play! I'm glad at CG you can do this! We eat there every trip with DD as well, but I'm glad to know we can do sushi at the bar!:thumbsup2
