Monorail closure

I read that the monorail is undergoing refurbishment and will have limited operating hours...we will be at the contemporary next week...does anyone know how the monorail closure has affected transportation on the resort monorail?

That stinks. We stayed at the Contemporary on our last trip in 2015. We were so excited to stay in the hotel with the monorail right there. We had to walk to MK most of the time. We hardly got to use the monorail.

I really feel badly for you.

But it's old data. I couldn't seem to find anything newer. I'm also staying in Contemporary in May.

I thought the scheduled closures - in the link above - were over with?
Per that article:
"Operating hours:Epcot Beam Overnight Closure: 11:00 PM Sundays - 9:00 AM Mondays, 11:00 PM Mondays - 9:00 AM Tuesdays. Express Beam Overnight Closures: 11:30 PM Sundays - 9:30 AM Mondays, 11:30 PM Mondays - 9:30 AM Tuesdays.
Monorail Shutdown: 11:30 AM - 6:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Starting 4/12/2016 on Thursdays.

Where did you read that? According to the current times guide here:
https://www.orlandoparksnews.com/p/weekly-walt-disney-world-times-guides.html, there are currently no closures.

I think you were looking at old data or something that just happened in the last 24 hours. I am going to vote for old data. Here is the current Times Guide that runs thru Saturday. Next week will be up as soon as it is available.

Oh gosh.....it could be anything. We went during a reburbishment period while we were at the Poly. It barely ran in the morning or evening. During the day seemed to be OK, but we were in the parks Honestly, I was quite upset we paid $$$$$$$ for a monorail resort and had to walk to the TTC, then be told even the express wasnt working and had to take a ferry to MK, or walk some more for a bus to Epcot. If I had known back at the resort, I would have driven our rental car....but they dont tell you anything just "should be soon", but never is or telling us to walk to the TTC knowing its not running there either.

My sister had lunch at the GF last year and the monorail wasnt working when she left. She waited 15 minutes and was given 3 FPs for her patience! I went through 12 days of inconvenience and received ZIPPO. Maybe I should have complained (though she said it was just offered to everyone waiting..she didnt have to complain for them)

Im not saying you will have the same experience, but just dont be surprised if you do.

That monorail closure/refurbishment stuff is old news (unless something was announced today and I missed it), although you’ll still see it on several websites. As others have posted above, the Times Guide is your most accurate source for monorail times. A new guide is published weekly, so always make sure to grab one when there because monorail Hours can change week to week.
