does it actually stop there or is it a part of the ride? also where can i catch
the monorail to go around epcot?

When the monorail gets to EC, it actually circles part of Future World before it "docks" at the monorail station. It's fun for first-time visitors. :goodvibes

The Epcot monorail runs from the transportation ticket center (TTC) to Epcot. It's about a 10 min ride. The monorail will actually enter the park, go past several attractions in future world, then loop back around the ball (SE) before stopping at the monorail station at the entrance where you can get off and into Epcot.

From the same station, you can catch a monorail back to the TTC.

At the TTC, you can switch to an express monorail which stops at the Magic Kingdom and TTC only (a loop), or you can ride the Resort monorail loop, which stops at the Poly, Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and back to the TTC.

the monorail that comes from the TTC will go around future world before stopping at the epcot station. It does not stop while going around, it does go slowly and there is some narration about what you are seeing as you go around. The only place to get on it is at the ttc. On the trip back to the TTC, it does not go around the park again.

It stops at Epcot, you pick it up at the TTC. It goes around Future World before stopping at the station (these taken from my website):

Dont mean to hijack but,.....
How many monorails do they have and where do they go?
from mk you can get where and to what resorts?

There are three public lines...at MK there is the express line...stops at TTC and MK only. It runs counterclockwise. The resort line, runs clockwise...TTC, Polynesian, GF, MK, Contemporary, back to TTC. There is the line that runs from TTC to Epcot and back again.
If you ride the Epcot line back to TTC and want to hop on the resort line, you are going to have to get off when you get to TTC, then walk down and back up again to the Resort Line...not a huge deal, but I like to be sure people know they just don't get off one, and then walk 3' and hop on the other line.

thanks everyone...this answers everything
i am bringing my brother and his kids with us
in aug and they have never been to disney
so i thought maybe they could get a feeling what
dw is like by monorail, stop at the hotels walk around
see 2 of the parks from above. this will give them a little
understanding what is going to happen the rest of the week
with them:cool1:

Since we never go into a park on our arrival day, it's a tradition to ride the monorail around Spaceship Earth that evening. Kind of makes us feel like we ARE in a park for a few seconds.
