The maps show the EPCOT monorail located at the front entrance. We'd like to ride the EPCOT monorail just for fun and then take it in to MK (which it looks like requires a transfer at TTC). We are staying at BWV which is close to the WS end of EPCOT. We don't want to use our ticket since we are going to MK and don't have hoppers. Is there a way to walk to the EPCOT front entrance from BWV? About how long would it take to ride around EPCOT and then take the monorail to MK? I don't wanna spend all morning on the monorail, but thought a little ride would be fun! Get the kids excited about going to EPCOT the next day!

You can't walk to front entrance of EPCOT. Besides, the monorail loops thru EPCOT and then enters the monorail station. So if you get ON at EPCOT, you only ride to TTC, not THRU EPCOT. What you need to do is get to TTC, then take the EPCOT monorail. Take the full loop thru EPCOT, then don't get off. It will take you right back to TTC, where you have to get off and transfer to one of the other two monorails (both go to MK). My guess is that the trip on both monorails would take about 30-40 minutes (plus whatever time it takes you to get to TTC). Have a great trip! :hippie:

Much better idea to take the bus to the MK and then ride the monorail back to Epcot on a day that you want to end your day at Epcot, after being at MK. Of course, that means you have to have park hopping ability. Otherwise you could take a cab to the front of Epcot from BW.

If you're staying at BWV and you want the experience of riding the WDW Monorail system, but you don't have Park Hopper passes, I would suggest:

  • Take the MK express loop or MK resort loop from the MK entrance on a day when you're visiting MK. If you have the time, use the MK resort loop to visit some of the deluxe resorts on the loop.
  • And take the full Epcot-TTC loop from the Epcot entrance on a day when you're visiting Epcot. (Then reenter Epcot.)

There is no bus service from BWV to TTC, so to do what WeLuvTink! suggests, you would first have to take a bus to MK and then take a ferry or Monorail to TTC.

The suggestion from goofy4tink would be good if you had Park Hopper passes and really could "end your day at Epcot," but without Park Hopper passes, you would not be able to enter Epcot (to walk back to BWV) if you've already been in MK that day.

I would take the bus to MK and then hop on the Epcot Monorail. It will take you through the park on your way getting to the trans center for Epcot so your kids will get to see part of the world and it will go past the Lands (Soarin, Journey into Imagination, and Nemo) and past Spaceship earth. It will take about 10 minutes or so Monorail ride from MK and another 10 back so it depends on your schedule when you wanted to take the ride. Might be a good time to take a break from the heat. It will give them a birds eye view of Epcot and a few minutes to relax before you head back to MK.
Have fun!

The Epcot Monorail does not have a station at MK. The only two stations for the Epcot Monorail are TTC and just outside Epcot.

From MK, there are three ways to get to TTC: Ferry, Express Monorail, and Resort Monorail.

Hey, you are right. The bus would drop you in front of MK. You would have to take the monorail from MK to TTC and then hop on the Epcot monorail.

Friendship Boat to DHS; bus to TTC; monorail to Epcot and back to TTC; monorail to MK; enter MK; bus back to resort.

This thread is starting to remind me of six degrees of Kevin Bacon:)

what you can do is walk to dhs take the epcot bus then trasfer to the monraila dn you can ride it rpound trip if you want the get off at ttc and transfer to the mk monorail. It might take 30 min with walking to dhs that way you wont have to use your ticket at all. Or you could take the mk bus from board walk then tranfer to the monorail and get on the epcot but the other way you will skip a step and save time.

To the OP, without a park hopper you will have to go through a very round a bout way and in some cases back track to do what you want to do and waste a ton of time, maybe an hour and a half before you get to the MK. Just take the bus to the MK.

The only thought I have is if you have time during your MK day, take a break and take the MK express monorail to the TTC and then ride the Epcot monorail. You don't have to get off at Epcot just stay on and you will get a preview of Future World.

This is very similar to someone who was staying onsite with her never been to WDW DBF and just had to take the ferry to give him the perfect entrance to the MK. Well the only way to do it involved a bus to Epcot, the Epcot monorail to the TTC and then they could take the ferry. A lot of time for a special moment.

Yep, a good idea in theory, but not very practical unless you have all the tie in the world. I was debating bringing our lunches in a soft sided cooler and hitting the monorail while we eat, but I am sure NO FOOD OR DRINK is allowed! And now that you can no longer sit up front with the pilot, that kinda takes some of the fun out of it. So we'll see EPCOT on foot!

I would plan a monorail ride for my Epcot day. Do Future World in the morning, then hit the monorail after FW. Ride to the TTC then stay on and ride back, then head for World Showcase. This way you aren't going too much out of your way to get to the monorail and you have no unnecessary transportation time or transfers needed. You can stay on the monorail at the TTC and return immediately - no need to disembark and re-board. The actual trip takes 10 minutes, so you're looking at 20 minutes, plus the wait for the monorail to begin the trip, plus the time spent in the station at the TTC.

I was thinking a while back why they did not have a way for the Epcot resorts to have access to the front entrance to Epcot? The easiest would be to build a roadway from the area of the BC/YC right into the bus area at Epcot. This could eliminate the need to send buses to the Magic Kingdom from these resorts (take the bus/shuttle to the Epcot monorail, then the monorail to the MK, after transferring at the TTC). The other, but expensive option, would be to extend the Epcot monorail loop around to the Epcot resorts (after leaving the Epcot station). Looking at aerial pictures on Google Earth shows that both of these options are possible. However, how much of a return would then have in money and time saved?

Just thinking out loud.

So ... your proposal is to make the guests paying $$$$ to stay at the deluxe Epcot resorts transfer TWICE to get the MK? What would the point of that be?

Despite seeming like an attraction (and partly being one, at DLR), the monorail is simply transportation designed to move Guests. Since there's already a way for Epcot-area resort Guests to get from their resorts into Epcot (walk or boat to the International Gateway), DHS (walk or boat), Magic Kingdom (bus), and Animal Kingdom (bus); the proposed roadway would be an expensive and unnecessary addition.

Anyway, existing roads would suffice; it's actually the added bus/transfer situation simply to allow a few Guests without park hoppers to more easily ride the monorail that really isn't efficient at all.

I agree with your suggestion and what's great about it is that you can ride two Monorails. The 1st one being from the Magic Kingdom to the TTC, then the 2nd one would the the Epcot Express Monorail from the TTC to Epcot.
