Monopoly at McDonalds

My DD12 had a prize of an ice cream cone, so the other night her Dad stopped in McDonalds and sent her in to claim her cone.

It was taking forever for her to come out and he could see her in there down at the end of the counter... eventually he went in to see what the delay was

The skill testing math question

poor kid, she was there with a pencil trying to figure it out - she is special needs for math and reading in school so she does not work at her age level, she was so upset on the verge of tears.

I understand Canada has that weird skill testing thing, but come on, when it's a kid cut them some slack, she just wanted her cone and it turned a good experience to a bad one

When I worked at Old Navy we would have the same thing on the back of some of our scratch cards.... Never once did I ask someone to figure it out. I always gave them the answer. Shame on McDonalds for not giving her the icecream right away. That manager has no people skills.

That's not right!! Sorry she had to go through that! My 12yo would be in the same boat - he can't do math at the best of times but perhaps it would be different if we put a 'free' ice cream in front of him
