I am coming in May for 2 weeks with my daughter. We are going to visit Disney World and the other parks I.e Universal, sea world and all the water parks. We also want to do shopping at the outlets whilst we are there. Can anyone recommend how much spending money I should bring. Everything is already paid for, park tickets, hotel, etc. we even have a separate account for food and drink. Xx

Really, only you can answer this. You could spend anywhere from zippo to a K a day on merch if you chose. It's all up to you.

Estimate what you think you should need. Then double it. ;)

Seriously though, Mesaboy is right. We don't know you and your spending habits. It's very individual.

We spend most money on snacks. An ice cream here, goofy sours there. We usually don't do souvenirs or have a certain budget for it. Once you have tickets you could spend 0 more (besides food and drink). If you're going to buy pictures those are about $30.

$10,000

Assuming you have credit/debit cards and ATM access, you won't need much actual cash. Still, doesn't hurt to have a few dollars in currency with you. You'll want some cash for tips for people handling your bags, valet parking, maybe a treat somewhere they don't have the facilities for charging to your room? Budget 10 bucks a day and you'll probably take most of it home with you. :earsboy:

It really depends on much *stuff* you want to buy. I can't comment on outlet shopping because it holds zero interest to us. But our family could go through serious cash in 2 weeks at all those places. We have a kiddo who LOVES animals. We dropped quite a bit on our one day at Sea World for him. My daughter lives and breathes for Harry Potter - robe, wand, Pygme Puffle , chocolate frog and who remembers what else...that was several hundreds of $$$$. Then came the Jurassic Park area and my dino loving kid hit the gift shop.
Then we stepped onto Disney property for a week. And my love for Disney shopping kicked in.... - Star Wars weekend got another significant bit of $$.
Moral of the story - if you like to shop...plan for a lot more than you think. ;)

Our first trip to WDW in 2010, and we spent a good $900 in souvenirs etc that we charged to our room. I have $500 in Disney gift cards for this trip that we will also use for snacks. I got the kids $25 each for spending at WDW and we will buy them little incidentals.

All depends on your personal taste. I bring little "prizes" for my kids with me that I by from the Disney store at home and other places where they are much cheaper than at Disney.

Are you an international visitor? If so, have a plan for taking your goodies home. Either an extra suitcase, or using a shipping service (FedEx, etc). You'll need to do a little homework for shipping service info, but I imagine it's readily available in a tourist city like Orlando.

I am flying from London, I can take 2 suitcases each so at most will have 4 suitcases to take home. Plenty of room for outlet shopping

We come in from Germany and I spend about 1000 but that doesnt include if I buy an ipad.

At the outlets I get in trouble with the Michael Kors, Coach Store.
There is also Polo and tons of kids stores.. I usually have a Levis order too and the outlet has a great store.

Then there comes my Target shopping, I usually buy stuff for the home I dont need and other cool different stuff. Target/Walmart I can drop 100s in no time.

I am American so for me I go crazy cause i miss the stuff. Dont get me starting on grocery shopping. We are a family of 4 and had 8 huge suitcases.
I recommend the ziplock package bags.. Either use a vacuum or sit on to press air out.. If you buy bulky clothes, coats etc.. it helps.

but like others said, I dont know what your spendin habits are.. I am the type that will spend on things I dont need just because I panic as this is my only chance getting them as in Germany I cannot buy it. I know its a problem, but once a year is not bad. I really dont do mindless shopping at home. In FL I do it in one shot!

Not sure how the UK is but for germany we can officially only bring in 425 or so euros in tax free.
