Do we really need a lot of cash? I was wondering if counter service restaurants take credit cards? How much "cash" do you think for 7 days? I don't want to get too much out. lol
Every counter service I went to accepted credit card -- the only time I spent cash the entire trip (1 week) was hotel tip and ice cream/drink carts in the park.
If you are staying on site, give your credit card when you check in and you can use your room key to charge things with. Everywhere from stores to counter service restraunts.
We always end up taking out too much cash when we go to WDW! Even some of the carts are now accepting credit cards or room keys for payment! You only really need it for tipping and for some carts.
....last I knew, the Swan & Dolphin were not part of the Disney charge system. If you're staying there, they don't let you charge things you purchase in the parks back to your room.
We always take more cash than we need -- better safe than sorry!
I never take ANY cash (that's why God created Traveler's Checks!). However, I do take Traveler's Checks! I usually put $200 of checks in an envelope for each day we are there and that is our allotment for the day. It helps me to NOT overspend. I do tuck the credit card into my fanny pack just in case I see that "to die for, gotta have it, gotta have it now" item, but use it VERY sparingly.
