So this is a stupid questions but I don't know what way to bring my money to dlp!

I don't have a credit card and my bank is going to charge me a % every time I use my debit card!

Would it be safe enough to carry just cash? And leave cash in our room we are staying at the disneyland hotel and I'm assuming they have a safe in the rooms!

I had been thinking about travellers cheques but read they aren't really used now and was also worried about getting them cashed in the parks.

Lastly the post office allow you to save on a per paid credit card and use it free abroad! I had considered this but you can only add £750 max which is less than what we wanted to bring!

On a separate note 4 weeks today and we will b there :D

what about doing part cash and part on the post office card??

Thats what i think im going to do. at least then you wont always have too much cash and can always have the card with you for more cash if need it?

Ive heard good things about the post office card, never used one myself but i think that is def going to be the way to go.

Youll have to let us know how you get on with it if you do get one :)

Have an amazing trip!!!!

If your staying at one of the Disney hotels, you can charge purchases in the parks to your room. Then you will only have to pay one transaction charge to your bank when you checked out.

I take some cash for spending money, mainly for drinks and snacks in the park and all our meals and purchases at the shops are charged to our room

Belle24 thanks I will let u know how we get on!

Jonjo thanks for ur reply but I really don't want to have any charges for using my debit card away the way I read it was a % of the transaction amount rather than a set % each time I used it plus a 75p chargefor converting it to euros.

Can I charge things to my room and then pay it off with cash? That way I won't have to carry large amounts round the park?

Yes you can pay your bill with either cash or a card on check out, but you must register your card when you first check in at reception to be able to charge things to your room.

If you do want to use your banks debit card double check the % of the transaction amount, and to be on the safe side let your bank know your traveling outside the UK just to be on the safe side if you do decide to use it.

I am with the Halifax and they charge £1.50 per transaction and a transaction fee of 2.75%, so for every 100 Euros I spent I was charged £2.36.

I paid my last room bill with a combination of cash and a card payment.

May sound daft, but when charging goods/meals to your room, do they just swipe your room key at the till? Or similar?

Ah I see, very good, ta for that.

Do all the shops/restaurants offer this service? I wouldn't expect it from the counter service places (as I imagine it could slow down the 'fast food' process) but is it available everywhere else?

Its available in shops, restaurants (including counter service) and bars. Don't think it can be used in the likes of Mc Donalds etc
