Monday in October???

We are going to Disney in October and were planning to go to Harry Potter on the Monday of our stay. We have a 5 year old and a 12 year old.

what kind of tickets should I buy? Do I need the express pass since it is a Monday during the school year? Not Columbus Day. Will the park to park be worth it?

The ticket I found look to be more expensive than Disney. Am I missing something?

You should be fine w/o purchasing EPs for that part of October. You can always purchase them if you get to the parks and decide the lines are too long. I wouldn't recommend purchasing ahead of time.

As far as ticket prices go...you aren't going to find too many deals on one day tickets except maybe at Undercover Tourist. Theme parks charge full price for single day tickets for the most part but discount the longer you stay.

If you are going to do both parks, get the one day two park base ticket since you probably won't have to hop and do both parks the same day. Crowds shouldn't be a problem but the parks close early that time of year and you might run out of time.

minnie, if you are only going on a monday, just buy the one day/park ticket.
if you plan to check out the studios, make it a 1 day 2 park ticket.

go early and check out the potter section.

the night before, hhn will close at 1:00 am.
hopefully, some of the onsite hotel guests won't be getting up early on monday to hit the parks....


you shouldn't need the express passes if you are basically concentrating on the parry hotter section.
fj does not have an express line.

you can do the child swap on any of the rides in the park.

once you are done with potter, try seussville.
it is very entertaining.

ticket prices are about what you would pay for disney one day.
there are no discounts on universal one day tickets.

if you have finished potter and anything else at ioa, you could park hop to the studio side.
you would need to go to guest services to upgrade to a 2 park ticket.
you only pay the increase.
you would have to do this before you left the park.

many buy their tickets online at universal store.
if they are lost, or you would forget and leave the tickets at home, guest services can look them up and reissue them.

they can only do that for tickets bought online at UO.

the tickets at undercover tourist is close to the price at uo on line store.
but, if you are buying 4 sets of tickets, it could save you a couple of bucks.

What Monday in October are you going? We went the first week in October 2008 and the crowds were very low. However last year at we went to Disney the same week and OMG the crowds were insane! I guess many states on the East Coast have a fall break that first week of October. (We go to year round schools in NC and our track has a 3 week break in October) With WWoHP I can only imagine that first week may be busy. But I agree...I wouldn't buy the EP in advance. The tickets are worth every penny! US/IOA is great fun!
