The kids do not get this day off of school so I did not anticipate it being crowded or really consider it a "holiday" but when I called to make Plaza PS for lunch I was told if we didn't make our PS, it would be $10 charge to the credit card per person. The CM also said the DDE discount would not work b/c its a "holiday". Is Feb 14th listed as a holiday by Disney standards anywhere? I can see MLK and Pres Day but not so sure Feb 14th would be a holiday.

It is a holiday in the restaurant world. A very big "dinner date" day as well as marriage proposal day.

The list that came with my DDE Renewal Card last month listed the following as holidays:

Easter, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, December 24, December 25, December 31 and January 1.

Yhose are the only dates listed.

26555, not to just assume but you know that is Valentines Day. If i remember i think DDE used to list that as a day it wasn't applicable. Very busy dinner night for those of us who don't want to get in trouble.

I also remember my brother going to dinner to use a coupon, the waitress says that he can't because it's a holiday. "what holiday?" , "oh it's sweetest day?", "what the....... is sweetest day?" , even after talking to the manager no he could not use it.

It is valentine's day..and a huge holiday as far as disney is concerned. Restaurants will be booked full.

I made a PS for LeCellier for Valentine's Day dinner and was required to give them my credit card number to hold the reservation. I am sure it will be a very busy day at all the restaurants.

Yep, knew it was V-day. Maybe I could see needing credit card for dinner PS but not so much lunch. So, I thought Jan and Feb would be slow for all but MLK and Pres weekends. Are parents pulling their kids out of school for Monday, Feb 14th? I was anticipating normal weekend crowds but was hoping for a off-season Monday. Should I expect heavy crowds at MK?

We are usually at Disney every valentines day. The restaurants are all completely booked full. The parks start to get crowded after lunch, and are pretty mobbed by dinner time. The rest of the week is usually empty.

Feb 14 is my mom's birthday, and she'll be with us this year in Florida, but I'm afraid to take her out on her birthday because it will be too crowded and rushed. We're going to O'hana's on the 15th instead.

From Michigan and most districts around here are off that week. The Feb break week seems to vary, last year it was actually during President's week, but this year and 2 years ago weren't. Works out great for us because we're going to Killington, VT skiing and paying 1/2 as much as we would if they had the next week off. But all districts I know of are off the 14-18th.

I also live in MI and we are off of school that whole week as well. I think it goes beyond MI, and includes much of the northeast. We are going on a cruise that week, and the cruises are all more expensive that week than all others in February, becuae they know it is a holiday week for many who live in cold weather and are trying to get warm!

I would expect that week to be busy at WDW!
