Morning everyone,,

Just wondered if anyone has used Monarch.co.uk Their prices are very good..Undercutting Virgin by a long way..Any feedback?

I have not flown long haul with them, but have used them for 4/5 hour flights and we were pretty impressed. Why people still continue to fly with Virgin baffles me, they are now extortionate. 2007 we paid £580 for school holiday flights, today it would cost over £1000!

If you have m+m they have sales and I have heard of people getting £700 for the school holidays. I agree their prices have rocketed but some people will pay anything to fly with them due to be being direct.
For the OP never flown with them but heard they are good. Bare in mind they fly into sanford not mco. Tbh probably better and quicker than mco

and your luggage allowance is less. Not a big deal for some but you need to start adding on the extra costs should you want more.

Thankfully we don't need to book peak times and our flights are always really good value. We have reward flights in PE this year but if I'd had to pay oop it would only have been around £430 (economy) in their sale.:goodvibes

But if I had set times I had to go I would go with the cheapest be it direct, indirect and to Sanford or MCO..for a family you save a fortune.:)

Because they arent always extortionate. If people dont need to go in holidays or have frequent flyer miles they can be very reasonable.

For next year (26th April - 13th May) we paid £1497 for 2 adults and 2 kids using some of our miles and during a sale.

To the OP aslong as its cheaper once you have added everything you need then id go for it. All airlines have good and bad but aslong as it gets me there id go for the cheapest.

We flew with Monarch for our last minute trip May 2012 (booked through cosmos)

No complaints. Would fly with them if the price is right.

From Manchester into Sanford. Think we landed 1.30pm ish which was great. No real customs lines at Sanford.

Seatback tvs weren't standard and you pay for drinks. Food was ok - no different to usual fare.

Completely off topic, but you took me back to my love for Garth Brookes!!! I have everything he ever recorded and lots of tapes of his concerts. I went over to Dublin to see him and chatted to the bank and Trish Yearwood (long before they were married) in their hotel.

OK, back to subject.

We flew Monarch for the first time to Orlando last month. We had used Virgin on all our previous trips. We decided to upgrade to premium to try and level out some things like baggage allowance and included drinks. I thought the service was very good. Sandford wasn't as busy as Orlando which was good in terms of going through immigration and security. The only thing that was noticeably poorer was the entertainment. I knew in premium that it was the back of seat TVs and that it played on a loop. The problem was that it froze and had lines going through it. The programmes that they had were also really old. In future I would make sure my DD had good video content on her Ipad. I would use Monarch again as they were very good and I have been priced out of Virgin.
