To remove my gallbladder. I should be home the same day. That's if everything goes smoothly. I'm actually alittle nervous so if you can spare some pixie dust and prayers, I could use them!
Thanks everyone!
Best of luck to you. My DH had his removed a few years ago and was back to normal activity in less than a week. I hope you do as well. Make sure you have some loose comfy clothes to wear for the 1st couple of days. Hope someone's around to pamper you.
Things have changed so much since I had mine out in '77...a week long hospital stay and a nice 8" scar on my abdomen.
Now most people go home the same day and just have tiny incisions, amazing!
Desnik -- I had my gallbladder removed two weeks ago. My surgery was at 2 pm and I was home by 7:30. Tried to stay awake to watch Survivor that night, but I was too sleepy. Some soreness when moving around but a pain pill took care of that. I was fine after 4 - 5 days, and I am so happy that I will not have another GB attack, especially with 3 Disney vacations coming up in the next 6 months! I am a nurse and, believe me, having your gallbladder taken out 10 - 15 years ago was a horrible painful experience with a long recovery time. Now it is a snap! We are so lucky that so many advances have been made in doing surgical procedures.
My best, Desnik, for a quick operation and speedy recovery. Let us know how you do as soon as you can. My prayers are with you. And your hubby also, Denise, my best wishes and prayers travel with him also.
And Roy, great to see you, hope you are working your way well along the recovery road too.
