Today DH and DS actually woke up before 9am because we were trying to get to MGM for the SWW events. We arrived around 11:30am, just missing the SW parade, but the boys were okay with it since their stomachs seemed to be ruling at the moment so we arrived early at :cool1: 50’s Primetime, one of our favorite fun places to eat at WDW for our noon PS/ADR. Again people who didn’t have a PS/ADR were being turned away for the entire day…so get them if you really want to eat a specific location.

We had a blast at 50’s Primetime with Cousin Brenda taking care of us. She was fantastic with DS for his birthday. She told our section that if anyone had any questions to ask him because now that he was 13 he knew everything to which DS laughed as much as the rest of us. At the end of the meal she brought him a cupcake and a card for the rest of the cousins to sign while we all sang “Happy Birthday”. Afterward, one twenty something guy yelled ala Budweiser commercial, “I love you, Cousin Nic!”

When we left 50’s Primetime we headed over to One Man’s Dream, which at first glance seemed a little lame until we started walking through the exhibit with all of Walt’s memorabilia. Wow! I saw one of the lunch boxes from childhood and did it bring back memories…the Country Bears were my favorite. The diorama built by Walt himself was amazing just like the man. Even DS enjoyed looking at the models for the different parks while we waited to be seated for the movie of Walt’s life. This was such a nice documentary…I’ve watched different programs on Walt Disney’s life, but this film did such a great job at presenting Walt, the man and his dream. I just kept thinking “what a great father” that his dream for his daughters turned into the dream of so many fathers and mothers - to go to a place where the parents could ride and enjoy attractions along side of their children. I actually got  teary eyed near the end…DH understood…DS didn’t see it, which is probably good because it would have embarrassed him. I left the theater with an even greater appreciation for Mr. Disney! Thanks, Walt! :grouphug:

While waiting for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, we saw some of the SW characters such as Darth Sith, Stormtroopers, Imperial Guards, and short, fat, slobbery thing whose name I don’t know. Once inside WWTBAM, we overheard a CM, Jim, talking to another guest about himself. It seems Jim is from a town very near our home, Carbondale, Illinois, but unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to speak with him. This was our first time to give WWTBAM a try and were really surprised with how well we did. DH faired better than me in the first game, placing 8th in the Fastest Finger, but in the second game I managed to place 5th.

We tried to grab a performance of Little Mermaid, but the attraction broke down while we were in line, so we’ll have to catch it at Christmas. We headed over to Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, grabbed a fastpass so we could ride after our dinner and then tried to grab one for Tower of Terror, but couldn’t since we had just snagged one for RNRC. Fortunately a very nice CM noticed we were having a bit of problem with the fastpass…so I explained that we wouldn’t be able to grab a fastpass for TOT because we’d be in the middle of dinner. The CM was kind enough to give us a return pass so we could come back at a time that was convenient for us. Thanks CM Jonathon! :wizard:

We headed down Sunset Blvd. and into the Once Upon A Toy store, where we found some very pretty Christmas decorations, which gave me some ideas for our Christmas visit. DS found an ESPN hat that he liked and in the jewelry section I found a pair of Tinkerbelle earrings that I’d been hoping to find. By then it was time to head to Hollywood & Vine for our Fantasmic Dinner Package. It was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised with the selections. I have to say that the magic of WDW was burst for me in the strangest way…I had never realized that H & V shared the bathrooms with 50’s Primetime. :faint:

After dinner we headed back to TOT and used the return pass given to us by CM Jonathon and got right on. It was one of the best rides we had on TOT…gotta love the random drops! Then we hung out near RNRC, playing “Bad Shoe - CROCS” seeing how many of each we spotted and watched the people go by…there are some interesting folks at WDW. When our fastpass time arrived we got in line and immediately heard the announcement that the attraction was experiencing some kind of problem…ick! Well, we were only delayed for a few minutes and then we were inside and quickly on the ride. DS had forgotten how the limo shoots out 0mph to 70mph in about 3 seconds and it caught him off guard. Personally, I ended up riding the entire time with my eyes shut; not because I was scared, but because it helped with the jerkiness. I’ve decided RNRC is not one of my favorites. :tilt:

Since we had PS at Fantasmic and it was 8:15pm we decided we should head to the special gate near Oscar’s. The walk from the gate to the theater is interesting, kind of a free behind the scenes tour. Now I know where all of those strollers at MGM end up at the close of day. :ssst: As soon as we reached the theater entrance we were seated. The sections held for FDP patrons are not the best seats (center), but they were acceptable for us. Okay, I might get flamed here, but I am so glad I didn’t wait in line for an hour like some of the people without the FDP. I thought Fantasmic was a good show, but not one I will have to see again. It was neat how the scenes are projected onto the water but I guess I had read so much about it that I had over hyped it for myself and it just didn’t live up to the hype.

We felt that we had done all we really wanted to do that day and left shortly after Fantasmic. Upon arrival to the room, we decided to start packing since Monday was our last day.

Oh, fantasmic is one of my favourite things at WDW, oh well...on to day 6

I like Fantasmic -- but I don't think I can get my kids there again... first time, DS#2 became VERY ill right when the show began (after our 1 hr wait!) and there was no way to get him out! Then our 2nd try, ds #1 was suffering with sudden ear pain (he had an untimely ear infection / swimmer's ear), again, rgiht in the middle of the show! And again -- we had waited a loooong time in the August heat (the show got delayed by about 20 minutes due to thunder/ltning nearby and then, tech difficulties). I like the show, but honestly, I have a hard time following the story line -- I know it's supposed to be Mickey's nightmare, but my kids never really grasped that -- just thought it was a bunch of clips that went from happy, to scary, back to happy. THey were MUCH more "awed" by Wishes. And like you -- I SOOOO wanted to see Fantasmic, I had probably built it up too highly before my first viewing.

So no flames here, I guess! And hey, that's why Disney has so MANY great shows - something for everyone!!
And somehow I just knew you would have a great meal at PT cafe -- like I said, places like that and WCC love to kid the teen folk!

I guess I don't get it for the exact reason you mentioned...it was hard for me to follow...maybe cause I was trying to take too many photos (which didn't work great anyway), but I, like your kids, was more awed by Wishes! Wow! We actually were behind the castle when some of those went off and they were huge directly above our heads.

:sad1: I'm sad to see your trip come to an end. Just how many crocs did you see? I will be wearing mine everyday and hope to have my mom convinced to wear them too!
