Mom's, what do you do to keep your "identity"...

Beats me -- my name is Sarah's Mom or Shannon's Mom.

:upsidedow

Hey, at least you don't have people come up to you when you're voluntering at the school or someplace else and ask if you know A-'s mom because they really want to meet her. :wave2:

And not just other parents, but teachers. I probably should start to ask why first. ;)

My down time/self time is right now, and I'm on the Dis! And it's free! :) Other than that, I try to scrap book now and then, and get to the gym a few times a week.

Honestly, I can't remember.

I think I will find myself one of these days. I must be lost with the remote control and all the missing socks out there. :lmao:

I work full time outside the home as well...I think I just really need to dedicate some specific "me" time. I think I am going to take a Publix Aprons cooking class this month...or a wine pairing!

Trouble is, I don't have many girlfriends here. The women I work with are much older and since DH is 10 years older than me...most of his buddies wives are older and their children are older and they are into different things.

I teach bellydance, and I have a lot of Moms who use it as their "alone time". They get to hang out with a bunch of other women, connecting with their bodies and minds in a new way, lots of laughter, good for your health...it's a great hobby! I highly recommend it!

I have also had lots of new Moms who danced with me through their pregnancies. They swear by the low-impact physical fitness, and chance to spend time taking care of themselves!

I teach full time plus I am getting back into performing - which I love - and taking voice lessons again.

I LOVE my job!!! I love teaching music and musical theatre and then getting to perform in musicals? I'm a much better wife and mom than I was two years ago. I had lost my sense of self-worth and identity. But now that I believe that I deserve my own time and attention, I am a happier me.

I am in Bowie.

My youngest is 22 and I'm still Sarah's Mom to her friends. Oh well, I've been called worse -- VBG.

;)

Oh in November I went into NYC with my best friend- we went out to dinner and spent the night at a hotel and then shopped around all day Sunday. It was fantastic! I was ME! It felt fantastic. We are vowing to do it again this year. So I guess I will get to be me once a year!(by the way my oldest is 12 and I have not felt like me in about 12 years...) But I'm back baby... I'm back

I talk to my bestest girlfriend Goofyluver every night....it is my unwind time. Thankfully I have a great long distance plan!!!

I also go to school...taking my classes is great down time for me....it's the home work that is no fun!!!
