My friend and I will be arriving at Disney World in 3 days...... :cloud9:

We both are married with kids and have decided to leave the husbands and kids at home for this trip.... :woohoo:

This will be my 3rd trip in 3 years. I have to admit that I am a very organized person. So the past 2 trips I had everyday of our family trip planned out on paper. Which parks to visit based on crowd levels, when/where to eat, when to shop.

My question is would I have a better time with out the plan or should I just go with the flow? I do want to see almost all of the attractions. I would like to have some "down time" too. (Swimming, shopping, & relaxing)

My biggest concern is not having enough time to see and do everything that I want to.

Any advice would be great....:thumbsup2

Having previously been a super-organized park commando on previous trips, it took a bit of mental adjustment to focus on relaxing for my current trip.

It's important to figure out what you want out of the trip. If that's different from priot trips, and it sounds like it is, then changing the way you tour would make sense.

I want to try and see the shows that I never get to see when the kids come along...beauty and the beast, nemo, lion king...etc.

I still want to ride RnR, Movie Ride, Splash/Thunder Mountain, Everest, Kali, Safari's and visit the World Showcase....:thumbsup2

I guess if I get everything done that I want to do within the first few days then I can just go with the flow....:cool1:

i've done both ways when i've gone solo: planned ahead what rides/parks each day and when (great when there's no one complaining and it's all what "you" want to do!)

but favorite trips were during F&W solo, when i've mainly been at EP grazing the food booths, taking food porn photos, people-watching, shopping and basically wandering at whim (and doing maybe 3 rides, tops, in 4 days) - ah, the memories!

I say to go with the flow but thats my usual travel style at WDW anyway. (but I have the advantage of living close by and annual passes) I think a girls trip would be more fun taking it as you go and hitting the F&W festival. ;)

The morning you go into the parks, check showtimes and plan that accordingly, otherwise, go with the flow! This is the perfect time of year to go, for one thing and also, you get a lot more done without children. The food and wine festival is awesome! Make sure you take a lot of pics and post them :D!

I went with 2 girlfriends a couple years ago and we are all married and have kids. We left then all home. We had a great time, had a few things scheduled like meals and then I had each person pick 2 must dos at each park. We found we had ample time to go with the flow and did lots. There were some things we skipped because the kids were not with and othere things we did that we do not normally do. We really enjoyed our meals, we did not have to cut anyone's food and ordered what we wanted. We had a wonderful time. I would really recommend just picking a couple things per day that are a must and then roll with it. It was such a freeing experience. My one friend said it was so different to not keep track of everyone and every thing for a few days. We loved it. Have a great trip.

I too am heading down in a few days for a weekend away without the husband and kids. My first trip w/o them...makes me happy and sad all at the same time! Anyway, I am pretty sure that my friend and I are going to just go with the flow...do the few things that we really want to do that can't really do with the kids in tow and let everything else happen as it comes.

Have a great trip!

I think a 'girlfriends' trip should probably be a go-with-the-flow type of affair. And since this is such a slow time of year, you ought to be able to do that with no problem. You've been there enough to know what rides will get busy early, and when you'll need fastpasses. The only thing I'd plan would be which park which day and ADRs (but of course if you didn't ALREADY do ADRs youre probably out of luck on that). Have a great time!

Yes - I already have the parks planned around my ADR's.... :thumbsup2
