Moms to be Part 4

Here's a weird question for everyone - has anyone found that more men are showing interest in them since they have been pregnant? I have had a bunch of guys flirting with me lately - it's weird. I am thinking maybe the hormones make pregnant ladies more attractive to men? Hopefully it will stop once I start really showing. LOL

Luckily no one has hit on me except DH. I've been so pukey and pale and sick looking this pregnancy that I doubt I'm giving off and kind of hit on me vibes. LOL. Good for you though!

Yay I'm glad this thread is picking up. We all seem to be bonding. :goodvibes

I have a really really weird question-- is anyone else having scent aversions? They're not quite making me puke anymore, but man... they're really getting to me. The laundry smell is one of my worst! Soaps and shampoos are a close second. I'm using unscented everything! I was like this in my first pregnancy too, and it took almost a year to go away. Then I found Lush, this company that makes the best smelling soaps and shampoo bars... now they make me sick! LOL. Am I the only one?

Big time scent aversions, and big time oversensitivity to smells. When we were car shopping we sat in a car that had been well cleaned but someone had smoked in and I was like "Nope!" DH was like, wow, I can't even smell it! I just have absolutely no capacity to deal with things that do not smell good. Even normal smells bother me, or things I normally like. Cooking has been really difficult. I feel bad because we've done a lot more easy type meals and less real meals but DH does not have time to cook and sometimes ordering a pizza is about as much energy as I can muster. Pathetic, I know....

Hey, I have a semi-weird question. This is our last baby, and I have a clearblue fertility monitor that I used for a few months. I want to sell it, and they have a really high resale value. At what point in the pregnancy would you sell it? I feel a little hesitant yet, but then again... I need to stop being all cuckoobananas about losing the baby.

I'd probably wait til the end. At the risk of sounding terrible and very morbid, if something happened in your pregnancy, would you try to get pregnant again? If the answer is yes, I'd hang on to it. I went through some of the same thoughts about DH and his procedure but ultimately, my body cannot do another pregnancy so as sad as I would be at this point, it was the right choice to close the door entirely.

OMG!!! So I was looking on etsy for cute baby things, and I peeked at cloth diapers. HOLY cuteness!! OMG I would so go broke!! Darnit... I wonder if maybe I could buy a few and try it out..? DH would kill me. They're SO cute!!

I'm guilty of that.

I bought a dress this past weekend... but if this is a boy, I'll hang on to it as a gift. My cousin just had a little girl in February so that'll work as a Christmas/Bday gift. (I got it 18m)...

I'm about to burst. I was NOT like this with DS, I even intended to NOT find out with him.
I got a call from the hospital today, but they didn't leave a message. Anyone inside the entire hospital could have made that call, it gets routed through information. I was so frustrated! My OB's practice is in the hospital and they cancelled my last appt. (moved it) and I was freaking out because I thought they were trying to cancel this next one, too! :rotfl: I need to go to that appointment and get my order for an ultrasound!!

I so wish there was a 3d place nearby but there isn't. :( I could go in Columbus with my friend next Friday (we're going consignment sale shopping!!) but I want my DH to be with me if I do one. Grr!!

Oh well. Good news is that my best friend is going to watch DS for my appt. Monday (no sick kiddos allowed in the office, you have to cancel your appt. if you don't have childcare!!) and then we're going to do lunch and some shopping! I'm very excited. It's been awhile since we got together!!
Oh, and she is going to the community baby shower with me, too!!! I was afraid she might have to work but she is an RN and going back to midnights next week so she knows she'll be able to go!! Woohoo! Door prizes, food and games! I love things like that- something different, to get out and do (plus- meet other moms!!!!!!)

I hate that with the hospital and the phone numbers! Very frustrating when you want to know who to call back. Our local children's hospital does the same thing but it's frustrating because I have two kids that are seen in the GI department, one who goes to physical therapy, and one who was previously being seen in nephrology and urology (we've since switched to Boston Children's). When I just get that generic thing on my caller ID I have no clue which department and which kid- :headache:

Yay for your day out with your friend, that sounds like a great time!

I've gone completely nuts! They are just too adorable. Last night I tried putting stuff away in the changing table/dresser thing and the cloth diapers take up two of the large drawers :rolleyes1 One of the small ones too if we get into prefolds and doublers. I'm looking at it all and I was like, wow, I'd better not order any more and then I remembered I have four more customs on their way. Ooops. And I haven't even washed any of my woolies yet so I will need space for them too. It's an addiction!

AhHHHHH!!!

Vera Bradley has the small duffel bags on sale for $30, with a code to save 20%!!!!

I want one so badly. I'm intending to use it as a diaper bag, but I won't know for sure until it gets here.

My biggest hiccup now is color. Cupcakes Green would be nice and gender neutral but I also really like Raspberry Fizz (which is pink-ish!) but what if I have another boy?? It's my bag, right? So it doesn't matter? :lmao:
I need to make up my mind before my DH comes home and catches on to what I am doing! lol

Patsy - That community baby shower sounds like fun!! :-) If I were to go into labor tonight ... I probably won't try for the VBAC. Seems so much easier to just have the csection!

Mrs. Charming - Of course we are bonding now, I'll be gone soon. :sad1: I am always a day late and a dollar short! :-)

We have the orginal Chicco keyfit up to 22lbs. Alex was big like Lucas. I don't remember all the way up but he was 8lbs. 13oz, 22inches at birth, 13lbs. 13oz. at one month, 16lbs 12oz at 2 months and 18lbs 12oz at 3 months and 20lbs 12oz a 4months. I only remember those because the numbers were so even!!! Needless to say, since Ryan will be born a week and half earlier I am hoping for a smaller baby and maybe one that gains just a touch slower.

Check out this chubster! This was around 4 months:

*** Will anyone else admit to craving wine or alcohol? I already have a bottle of wine ready to be chilled for next week. How sad! I don't even drink that much normally.

He is so cute! I just want to blow raspberries on his belly! :lovestruc

Totally wish I could have a drink occasionally. There have been a couple of rough nights where I can't sleep and I think to myself that a glass of wine would totally knock me out. I've also been teasing DH that I want a rum drink served in a pineapple while I'm recovering ;) I won't actually do it but I will probably treat myself to a frou frou drink the first time we go out to a restaurant again after baby is born. And then of course, after not having had any alcohol for so long, I will be all giggly and drunk after just that one drink :lmao:

I vote that it's your bag and you are carrying it, which makes baby's gender irrelevant. I mean really, it's not like you're going to ask the kid to carry the bag to kindergarten! You're going to carry it, hang it on the stroller, etc.... get the one you like the best!

Blame it on the hormones ;)

I like the green personally, but they both look nice

Thanks for feeding my VB obsession :worship: I am going online to order one right now! I don't think it matters which color you carry based on the gender of the baby. My MIL bought me a pink Coach diaper bag when I was pregnant with DD and even if I have a boy this time, I will still carry that one......it's WAY too nice a bag to not use...lol.

LOL I know exactly what you mean. I just can't deal with smells... OMG when we go to DH's Gma's house, it reeks of fabric softener. I nearly barf when I walk in there. You'd swear I was talking about cat pee or something, nope, Downy.

We've been getting take-out a LOT. It's both an energy and a smell thing. Some small meals I can handle, but I can't do anything that's more than a few steps, or will be smelly. Ironically, Indian food is heavenly... you know, the smelliest food on earth.

It's not pathetic. :) It's just temporary. It just sucks for now!!

Yeah, that is kinda what I was thinking. I do think we'd try again, but I think after 6 mos or so I'd quit. I can't do the infertility thing again. DH would have to get snipped and I'd just have to be happy with one child.

Oh, and yes, I defintely have had beer, wine, and pina colada cravings. I don't want the alcohol, I just want the taste. I almost bought pina colada mix at the store just to make a virgin pina colada. I've thought of buying O'Douls too. I had a few glasses of wine over the course of my pregnancy with DD.. but I'm just too freaked out to do it now.

I had a virgin pina colada when we went out last week, it was yummy! Slushy drinks have been one of the few things I've eaten a lot of this pregnancy. When I was really really sick they were one of the only things that stayed down. I think everyone at Dairy Queen recognizes my poor husband by now. He's the large cherry slush, light on the syrup guy. :rotfl:

Ahhhhh but now I can't decide!!!!!!!!!

Which do you guys like better? haha
Is anyone else even more indecisive while pregnant??

I bought a sling and a Snugli-type carrier in pink/brown. I just figure, if it's a boy, I'm still going to use it, because that's one of my favorite color combos!

I always wondered why it had to be that the diaper bag had to match the baby. :confused3 LOL mine was a black messenger bag! (until it finally died... sniff sniff)

I ordered the hipster and a new wallet yesterday and justified it because my birthday is April 7... think I can say this is my birthday present from Lucas and the stuff yesterday was from him? :rotfl:

Ohhh.. I really want a NICE diaper bag. I'm not sure that this will work but I'm buying one with that intention. :rolleyes1 I'll just be so bummed if it won't work for that, let me tell you... :lmao:

What pattern are you ordering??

Oh my goodness that sounds delicious! We might be going out tonight now. :rotfl: I never thought about virgin. What a dork I am.

I LIVED off of those DQ slushies the last few weeks of my pregnancy with DS. Blue Raspberry!!!!!!!:banana: Now I want one. Luckily I need to run to the grocery store and DQ is on the way!!! :yay:

I agree with ZPT - I would wait until the baby comes just in case. :goodvibes

Step away from the Cloth Diapers.....:rotfl: Seriously! It is addictive and it gets expensive. It is really fun though - just don't say I didn't warn you. :cutie:

Thank you!

No problem!!

Cupcakes Green and Raspberry Fizz are totally my 2 faves. I think I like Cupcakes Green a little better though, but Raspberry Fizz would be so cute for a baby girl. I'm no help. :rotfl:

Raspberry Fizz is great for covering stains though. I have a Saddle Up in that print and I spilled pizza sauce on it at WDW and you totally can't see it.

So, I was a very bad girl - I just ordered $90 worth of baby girl stuff from Gap and Old Navy. If I find out I am having another boy I am going to have a lot to return. :rolleyes1

OK, now you all have me wanting a slushie. :rotfl: Maybe I'll go to Sonic for dinner.
