WdWorBust, must be something in the water cause not only are we due at the same time but... we're having a girl too. :rotfl: My husband said he'll just be captain of the SS Barbie. At least we having everything we need already.

Congratulations!

I was super excited to hear girl. My due date is days away from my due date with DD and I kept all her stuff so we are pretty much set. I think we'll need a new crib due to recalls (I still have to check)....a new carseat (even if I hadn't given DD's away I would need one since it would be expired).....and I think that's about it. I did buy a new stroller and am seriously considering an Ergo carrier....but we are in great shape. I had wanted to start going through baby clothes this past weekend, but it didn't happen.

Sounds like everyone had nice weekends!

Yea for girls for wdworbust and newddmommie!

Lauren: Your new DD is beautiful :)

It is grossly hot here too; supposed to be 99 today with 95% humidity and a heat index near 110. Nasty. The AC can barely keep up in my office. I'm trying to drink lots of water, but I am really bad about it.

We have WAY too many clothes for the baby now...we can't seem to help ourselves! We've been trying to buy in bigger sizes lately though! I am just so excited for him to get here (when he's ready!)

I am lucky with the childcare: my current job I can just bring him into my office with me which will be nice.

My back is KILLING me and I can't seem to get any relief no matter what I do. I have always had quite a few back problems, and the extra weight is really starting to take a toll (and I know it will only get worse!). Standing, sitting, laying...everything hurts. It was just annoying before, but now it's starting to interfere with things as it hurts so much I have trouble concentrating and working a full day all week is seriously like torture...I would cut back but I will be in just as much pain at home so I might as well get paid for it I guess.

Have a great day everyone!

Ugh... You can just call me "complainer" now. Baby is kicking like crazy, which isn't exactly comfortable at this stage. Add to that that I'm overly tired because DD7 was up half the night barfing, and then slept w/ us, so DH was up every 30 minutes telling her to roll over because her knees were in his back. I wanted to tell him to can it, I have knees in far worse places. ;)

I'm trying to keep a sense of humor, but even getting up to go pee anymore is a major undertaking. Two more weeks... I can make it, right?

Congrats Lauren and new moms! :)

Harper is still doing really well...she regained her birth weight by her two-week appt. She's taken to nursing again, which is great, but sometimes she still acts hungry afterwards (again probably because of the reduction) so she's still getting some formula also. And I still pump some also. DH had a great first father's day. We love her so much! :)

I feel your pain, my dear. This baby is all in the front, and the pull on my lower back is incredible. And I know what you mean about work. I'm uncomfortable and tired no matter where I am, so why not keep working? :lmao:

Oh, hon! It's okay. I understand how you feel. Well, fortunately, I don't have a sick kiddo sleeping with me, but I know what you mean about getting up out of bed. Going in the middle of the night...which I do 3-4 times a night...is like a task.

Never mind that there is no comfortable position anymore, so I wake up super achy no matter what.

I just keep telling myself, almost done. Almost done. One more day, one more week, etc. :lmao:

Happy to hear you're doing well and it sounds like things are going smoother for you! :goodvibes

WDWorBUST - yay for another girl! How great that your DD was able to come to the u/s afterall.

vettechick - yep, our sitter is one of the healthies people I know too. I think she has only called me sick once or twice in over 2 years since she started watching Alex!

cmskok - scary about the dizziness! I have definitely been noticing more dizziness with this pregnancy than the last.

Nette - wow, 8lb30z is pretty big, but I think the others are right that it's not 100% accurate. I never had a late u/s with DS, so I had no idea how big he was until he was born (7lb 150z). Happy Anniversary!

Lauren - she is just precious! :cutie: I had some similar comments from other people on DS's head shape and the c-section. Like I would actually choose major surgery to help DS's head shape, when most babies return to normal within a few days or weeks.

Temair - glad to hear baby #2 is hanging in there, I hope she stays in for a few more months!

TarzansKat - I hope your blood pressure stays under control!

Piecey - Lucas is adorable, his lips look a lot like my DS's - so sweet and kissable!

newddmommie - congrats on another girl for you! We had lots of boys in a row, now lots of girls!

irisbud - we are buying so much clothes for DD already too. All the baby girl clothes are just so adorable and hard to resist! I have managed to mostly restrain myself to things that are on sale or even clearance!

phrag - glad to hear Harper is doing so well!

***********************

I'm in a hotel in Portland right now, but going home tomorrow. It was a short business trip (left Sunday afternoon), but it's been pretty easy. This is one of the first times I have flown somewhere with some of my co-workers, which has been nice b/c they are all very tall men that have helped me with my luggage and stuff. And we've eaten out at some very nice restaurants - kind of a nice break even though it's work. :goodvibes

I just talked to DS and he asked me if I was coming home tonight. I told him I would be home tomorrow, and he said, "Oh, I thought I heard the garage door open and it was you but it wasn't the garage door and then I thought it was Jorge (DH's friend), but it wasn't. Where are you going to sleep tonight Mommy?"

Me: "In a hotel"

DS: "I sleeped in a hotel the other night (last month in DL) and I can sleep in a hotel again with you and Daddy if Daddy says it's ok I can go to the hotel and sleep with you way far away. Ok, bye Mommy."

My goodness that child talks a lot - I have no idea where he gets it from! :rolleyes1

That is so sweet! I love the things that they come up with. Glad you're having a good business trip. :goodvibes

Ugh, I feel your pain. I'm not even close to there yet with this one, but I sure remember feeling that way with the other two, and am sure I will with this one, too. Maybe I'm crazy (probably :)), but I always wondered if the totally uncomfortable time at the end of pregnancy was God's way of making us willing to go through labor :lmao: If it wasn't so uncomfortable, I might just want to keep the baby in there instead of facing all of that pain!

I have a Level II Ultrasound appt in 3 hours - I am sooo dying to find out what this munchkin is! If I don't find out this time, I think I will scream or cry or something! Counting down the minutes :goodvibes

Good morning everyone!

Pollito: Glad you are having a nice trip. I've been going for just sale/clerance items as well if I can help it. Like you said, everything is so cute it is hard to help myself!

TSRE: Good luck at your ultrasound!

We had an unplesent night last night. I woke up at about 1:00 because I smelled something odd. I thought it was one of the dogs, but it kept getting worse and worse...and more and more skunky. A skunk was in our garage and sprayed! It is so nasty...the whole house just reeks right now...even DH was gagging and the dogs were trying to hide...we sprayed a bunch of febreeze, etc. but had to keep getting up and doing it over again because the smell would just come back. DH is at home dealing with it this morning. It was the first time in a long time, maybe ever, that I couldn't wait to get to work! I hope it's gone or at least better when I get home!

Have a great day everyone!

OMG!! That is the worst! Right before I had DD we had something similar happen. It was nice outside so we had our windows open. Well I swear that stupid skunk had to have backed up to our open window and sprayed....it was AWFUL!! We left windows open, ran fans, sprayed any and all air fresheneers. It was horrible. And I hope you had better luck than we did because it lingered for DAYS. YUCK!!

TSRE - hope you have a great ultrasound AND you find out gender. When are you due again?

Yea! Congrats! :cheer2:

You're so close now! You can do it! Sorry to hear your DD was sick. Hope she's feeling better now.

Yikes! That sounds absolutely awful!! Hopefully the smell has dissipated by the time you get home.

Well, we finally found out...

It's a girl!!!

I am soooo excited - after 2 boys and a boy dog, I am so ready to have some pink in my life :banana::banana:

The u/s went well - everything looks healthy and normal. The tech gave me a small heart attack by asking if there was a history of congenital heart defects in my family after we'd been looking at the heart for about 5 minutes. After I answered her, I asked if she saw something, and she didn't - she just wondered because my doc had requested an eco (?) of the heart. I didn't know about that, and am not sure why, but maybe better that I didn't know, because everything looks good and we got to see all 4 chambers formed normally. The spine looks good, too, which was what the u/s was checking for originally. I have Spina Bifida Oculta and others in my distant family have the full disease and no control over their legs, so it was a relief to see a perfectly formed little spine.

I told the tech right at the beginning that we were really anxious to find out gender, and she didn't look until I asked again at the very end - 45 minutes later. I thought I was going to die! Anyway, I am a very happy camper now.

WDW - I'm at 21 weeks today. Maybe I'll take a minute and put a counter in my signature now - I kinda wanted to know if I could pick a pink one :)

Ick - I hope that goes away quickly and doesn't make you sick

Looks like there is a wave of Girls after our wave of boys! Where is that list anyway? I haven't seen it in ages.... Congrats to all of you who just found out!

yes so many girls now! Congrats to everyone who just had their gender scans! I'll be having mine next Friday! Can't wait! I hope I keep the girl trend going :cutie:

Yes, congrats to everyone on their gender scans!!! Girls are lots of fun :)

It's hot here and I hate the humidity. 8.5 more weeks for me!!! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. DH and I feel more anxious about #2 than we did when we were expecting DD....seems strange since we have "experience" but eveyone says the jump from one to two is so significant that I think it has us freaked!

Had to post again to see if the signature is working.

I hope so too! Good luck :goodvibes

If it helps at all, the jump from one to two was not a big deal for me. Hope it won't be for you either!
