Moms to be Part 4

I will be praying that your level went back up or hasn't changed on the next u/s!

That sucks too that they scheduled the appt w/o checking with you first! Glad your Mom can help you out though.

I don't think you are being unreasonable to ask to be able to schedule your appts yourself. I think they are being very unreasonable making it so you have to feel like crap for needing your appts to be a certain time and day. I've never heard of a Dr's office acting that way before. What a PITA!!

I had another u/s this morning and my fluid level is slightly lower than it was 2 weeks ago but still in the normal range. The Dr will read it tonight and call tomorrow if he has an instructions. I am hoping all he says is scheudule another u/s for next week and not the dreaded bed rest!! Since it's still normal though I have to think I should be ok. I am 35w3d so I am getting there. The baby measured about 6lbs 5oz!! Sounds huge t me considering I had DD at 38 weeks and she was only 7lbs! I'm just hoping to make it to 38 weeks with no bed rest :)

She's here! Anna Caroline arrived Monday, July 19 at 12:44 pm weighing 7 lbs 0 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. She arrived about 2 1/2 weeks before my due date (August 5). My water broke about 3 am Monday morning (I hadn't had any noticeable contractions either) and by 11:40, I was pushing after being stalled at 10 for a few hours because the epidural worked a little too well and I couldn't feel anything to push. About an hour after getting to the hospital, I was at 4 cm- when they checked in another hour, I was at 8! When she was born, she had a bit of trouble breathing and with heartrate(they had noticed that the last hour or so of labor, so I was on oxygen and they were prepared for it), so the neonatalogist immediately took her to examine and she (with Tony) spent a few hours in the special care nursery, which sucked for me but was what was needed for her. Her first apgar was 4 but her second was 9.

She's doing great, breastfeeding is going pretty well and she's pooping out meconium like a little machine (7 dirty diapers yesterday!). She has no jaundice and has only lost about 9 oz from her birth weight, which is good as they generally expect breastfed babies to lose about 10% and she hasn't lost that much. We came home today. We have an appointment with the pediatrician on Friday.

Tony's currently loading pics onto the desktop, so I'll try to post some later.

Congratulations Pixiegoose!

Kpm: hope your fluid levels are good so you won't have to be on bedrest...

Piecy: I don't think wanting to schedule your own appointments is at all unreasonable. Them NOT wanting you to is what is unreasonable...

Hope everyone is having a great day!

yay! Congratulations!! Can't wait to see pictures!

Okay guys, I hope to be joining you guys soon. But now I need your help.

We are TTC but we don't know how! haha

The first time was so easy and pretty much just immediate after I stopped taking BC.

This one we would really like to plan. I would like to have a due date at the beginning of the summer. (the first of June)

So I am wondering when to actually get off BC.

I am pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff but I know that you guys are experts!

Pixiegoose, Congratulations!! Can't wait to see pictures!

kpm: Good luck with your levels. With my DS my levels were low and they told me to drink a lot of water. I was put on bedrest for high blood pressure...not sure if my low levels had something to do with that, too.

Piecey: Hope your next appt goes well. I'd be a bit annoyed that they scheduled an appointment without asking me first, too!

Vettechick: I can't believe your due date is so close. I doesn't seem that long ago that you announced your pregnancy on the TTC thread!!

WDW: Your dad is in my thoughts. :goodvibes

Thanks again too all of you trying to calm my fears!!

Found out today that I failed the 3 hour glucose test. :( I got next week to pick up my meter and to meet with the dietician and gestational diabetes educator. They will show me how to use the meter and how my Dr wants me to record my levels. I think they said I'll probably have to check them 4-5 times per day. Good thing I've gotten better about needles. I'm bummed, but not really surprised.

One last paragraph for my novel: Has anyone who ordered the trumpette socks from totsy.com last month received them? We haven't yet, and there is no way to track the order or anything.

I don't have mine yet either, so I just sent an e-mail. I looked up some reviews on Totsy and they are pretty mixed. Some people really happy with the service, but most mention very slow shipping.

AFM ~ I have my big anatomy scan on Friday!! Any tips you ladies could give me before I go to this appt?

My doc's office recommended drinking extra fluids before b/c it makes the pictures clearer. I would have a little juice or something with sugar, but not too much b/c if the baby moves around too much it's difficult to get clear shots.

I went through all of DS1's baby clothes last night. That was harder than I thought it'd be. I guess I never really stopped to think about just how quickly they grow... as he stands next to me dancing to Madonna. haha.

Too funny - my DS was rockin out to some early Madonna yesterday too! :thumbsup2 And I felt really old when DH's 21 year old co-worker said he had never heard the song before. :headache:

That stinks, but it's really not too bad. I think I had to test my sugars first thing in the morning, then after each meal last time. I am really bad around needles too, and it took me several tries to be able to use the meter, but once I got the hang of it, it wasn't so bad.

I would probably get off BC soon if it doesn't take you long to conceive. Normal gestation is 40 weeks, so you would want to get pregnant around the end of August/beginning of September. Some women's systems take some time to regulate after stopping bc, though it doesn't look like you have been on it for long. Good luck!

My son was born 6/3/2009 (39 weeks, he was due 6/9/09)... I got pregnant with him the first month without birth control, which was September-- I got my BFP 10/6/08. I have no idea when I ovulated or anything but thought I'd share my timeline since I had him when you're hoping to be due.

I'm very fertile and never had any issues with getting pregnant. Staying pregnant was hard for me. I got pregnant the first month we were married and then miscarried. Got pregnant 6 months later and miscarried again. We really stopped trying for a while and then surprise, surprise I was pregnant with my DD. Then I decided I wanted an only child and went on BC. After almost 10 years we decided we really did want another child. Went off BC, had 1 period and then I was pregnant, but miscarried that one. Then it took 4 months to get my cycle back, but after 2 periods I was pregnant again. The past 2 times of TTC I used OPK's and also tried BBT, but I found I was stressing out more with the BBT, so I stuck with OPK's and it worked great for me. I ordered the opk's online and got 50 for about $20.

Good luck in TTC, and my best advice is to just enjoy yourselves and have fun.

Hello ladies!

Well, as we get closer to it, I thought I'd let you all know that my induction is scheduled for Monday. :thumbsup2

We're really excited (albeit missing the presence of my mom) to welcome this baby into our family. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow where I'll get another internal exam and we'll see how things are going. On my last one, my cervix was thinning on its own, so hopefully, I will not have to go in on Sunday night to have the 12 hour gel put on!

I'll keep you all posted. I'm not putting this out there for general consumption, only on the DIS, and select family, of course. :goodvibes

Congrats Pixiegoose. I love the name :)

TazarnsKat -- that is super exciting too. I hope everyone goes as planned.

I've been feeling a lot better the last 2 days. I'm not nearly as exhausted, so things are doing better here. Although, I'm not going to want to restart my 4 ten hour day work schedule back up -- working 4 eight hour days is great. I love leaving work at 3:30 instead of 5:30.

I am all kinds of moody from the hormones. I cried when Sonic put bacon on my breakfast sandwich instead of sausage this past weekend  And last night I actually screamed out loud when I was making dinner. I was sauteing crabcakes, and they all fell apart when I tried to flip them. They still tasted good, but we had crab-bits more than crabcakes. My DH thinks I'm nuts. Oh well, 12 weeks tomorrow. I'm so excited.

Congratulations Pixiegoose!

TarzansKat - I was thinking you would be next - it won't be long now at all.

Vettechick - I can't believe you are so close now too.

AFM - as it turns out the stent was all my dad needed (Thank goodness). It has been a rough week and I am absolutely EXHAUSTED. I am so ready for the weekend at this point that I cannot even see straight. However I hope to get our building finished this weekend. It has been so hot here that last week I only made it about 3 hours working on it. DH got all but 8 shingles on the roof (We ran out - I cut it a little too close). I need to paint, DH needs to get the trim on, and then I need to paint the trim. It's getting really close though. It's to the point that we could start getting stuff put in there, except that we're storing our materials and tools in there.

You are not alone. I teared up when that woman brought McD's into the doc's office last week when I was fasting, just at the thought of not being able to eat for 3 more hours.

I'm glad your dad is doing better!

************************

I passed the 3 hour glucose! :woohoo: Then went home and made some Ghiradelli dark chocolate brownies to celebrate. :thumbsup2

Can't believe I'm so close either! Three weeks from today. WOWOWOW!

Yay, Tarzan for being induced. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Pollito, enjoy that brownie. Well deserved! My friends think baby G's name is Ghiradelli because I love chocolate so much. LOL

Has anyone dropped yet? I'm pretty sure G has made the descent. I have a lot more pressure in my lower belly and bottom area. Her kicks and hiccups seem lower too. DD3 never dropped (she was breech til the end) so I'm not familiar with the sensation. But I think this is it! Anyone else?

Oh, hon. I hate to say it but that's so normal. I've actually apologized to my DH because when I fly off the handle, I really go nuts yelling. And I know I'm doing it when I'm doing it, but I just can't stop. I can't wait to get these hormones out of my system!!! :lmao:

I can't wait to get it over with! :lmao:

Baby's head has been done for weeks, and recently, the pressure is so intense. In my lower stomach, it just...yuck. Let's just say I don't remember this with my first at all.

Ladies, I have a question for you.

Have any of you been induced before? As it turns out, my cervix is not ripe enough, and I will have to go in and have the cervidil put on. I've never been through this process, and was just wondering if anyone else has, and was willing to share. :goodvibes

One of my SIL had it, and hated it, but she was very uncomfortable anyway because her water had already broken, and she wasn't progressing any further on her own, but in a lot of pain. I realize everyone's experience is different, but just wondered if you all had any words of wisdom to add.

Thanks. :thumbsup2

I didn't have to get cervadil ( I was 3cm and 100% effaced) so I just went in that morning at about 5:30...

Pitocin wasn't that bad. I was hooked up to everything by 6 and I didn't get an epidural until 12... and I really didn't even need it at that point, they just suggested I get it because the anesthesiologist was going to be on the floor for someone else and it could take hours for him to get back for me later. So I got it.

I had a crappy labor, but it wasn't from being induced (gallbladder attacks among other issues) and I dilated just fine. I was ready to push at about 7:30 that night but ended up having Lucas via c-section around 10. His head was too big for my pelvis.

I didn't think it was a bad experience though.
