oh gosh..I hate the gestational diabetes test...I took it this past friday..I forgot I had to drink that Juice...yuck..and I was hungry!! with my first, I failed the first test but was put through the 3hour test...or watever..it was horrible..I had the shakes by the end of it and went to IHOP and had me a stack of cakes, eggs, hashbrowns...everything..lol...but I didn't fail the second...

Well, I guess I should add our baby to the list. We're due August 12! This is our fourth child and a complete surprise:eek: . Congratulations to all!

ETA: My daughter's tooth fairy box just arrived from UPS. Now, if only any of her teeth looked remotely loose we could actually use it! She likes alligators a lot, sleeps with this old stuffed alligator that used to be mine, so her box has an alligator on it and says "I need the tooth fairy!" I guess the benefit of her not having loose teeth is that I can save it for her birthday.

That box sounds cute! I didn't think to order one and DD7(and 1/2!) lost her first tooth last week. You might be in for a wait... especially if your or your DH didn't lose teeth until later... In our case, her dentist was really glad she was slow in losing them because her mouth is so tiny.

Congrats FoundMyPrince! What a great surprise for you guys!

Nette - I only ordered the tooth box cause I happened to see it when I was ordering a necklace for my SIL. I'm sorta late with the Christmas gifts for the out of state people this year! But the box was really cute and she loves alligators so it will be a great fit for her.

I am glad to hear of another late tooth loser. My daughter's dentist said we'd see 6yo before she'd lose a tooth, and I am thinking more like 6.5yo at the earliest cause those teeth don't look like they are going anywhere right now! I think I was about 5yo when I lost my 1st tooth, my husband will have absolutely no idea, but I'll ask him anyway. My daughter was a really late teether though. She got her 1st 2 teeth at 10 months, then no more teeth till another 6 came in at once at 16 months. Then nothing else till 20 or 22 months, I forget now. But yes, only 2 teeth till 16 months and the full set wasn't in till she was over 2.5yo.

My son was about the same, but his came in more gradually than hers so though he started at 9 months, he got basically one a month or so from then on and was done right around 2yo.

I just got back from my dr appt. I waited for over an hour. Always a good time  They did the beta strep test while I was there today so I don't have to do it in 2 weeks. Yeah, um... wasn't expecting that.... for those of you that have had it, you know what I am talking about :rotfl:

I mentioned to the doctor that I felt like I was carrying so small compared to other women that are at the same point I am. He measured me and said that I measured a little small so he got me in for an ultrasound. The tech told me that she is head down, but that might not stay that way, and that she is already 5 lbs! what? It makes me feel now that I'm going to birth any minute! The tech said that she would have the doctor look at the pictures but that things looked ok. Next checkup is in 2 weeks. I've gone from the 4 week span to the 2 week span. That means it's getting closer!

That sounds just like my daughter -- she got her first tooth (bottom left... same as she just lost) at 9.5 months or so, and didn't get a second one (top right) until after she was a year old... then no more for months... she was so funny looking like a jack'o'lantern... good thing the other bottom tooth is already a little loose or I'd wonder if she was going to be snaggle toothed again. :rotfl:

I thought the morning sickness was over! Uggghh. I was laying in bed cuddling my cat when suddenly I got that feeling. Barely made it to the bathroom in time, which is the room right next to the bedroom. Poor DH had to come in and help me get cleaned up, and he's got some nasty cold right now.I feel fine now and even want food, but man.. that was not fun lol.

I think some doctors do it differently. I've heard that some swab two (:scared1:) places, others only do a swab like a pap.
Mine only did a swab like a pap so it wasn't that bad. I'm guessing yours did the two swabs? Sorry. :(

That size is pretty great! I had an ultrasound for Lucas at 35w4d and he was measuring 7lbs3oz.

Mine was just the 1 swab like yours Patsy, and I was shocked to hear some drs do 2 also!:scared1:

This baby measured 1oz less than Lucas at 36 weeks and a couple days (I forget at the moment, but 3 I think), so maybe that means I can count on her weighing a 1/2 lb or so less than Lucas at birth. ;)

Nette - Your daughter's baby pictures must have been adorable with the scattered teeth like that! I love looking at photos of my daughter at over a year with practically no teeth cause she looked like such a baby but was walking and stuff.

Time to get the big and medium ones to bed!

Did you figure out a name yet, Justine?

Maybe you'll be lucky and she'll be smaller than Lucas. Don't forget that he was born at 39wks. About a 1/2lb smaller would be almost right on 9lbs...lucky you! :rotfl: I know the first two were big, but did either hit 9lbs? I can't remember.

No on the name. (picture the rolleye man here cause I am too lazy to go to the advanced settings) I guess at this point we are waiting for her arrival cause neither of us are even discussing it anymore. (Again with the rolleye man.) I think it's going to be Scarlett though, as Joey is still claiming to dislike Tierney. But here's the thing, he doesn't like Tierney cause it sounds like tyranny, but Scarlett easily shortens to scar, which I don't see as much better.

The other 2 were both 'only' 8lbs 4oz. Not that large in the grand scheme, but given their gestations, particularly Henry at 36 weeks, they were large and would have been really large had they stayed in. And this one is staying in and I can't imagine her being drastically different than the other 2 so it is scaring me a bit!

I've been lucky that I get to do my own GBS swab. My midwife gives it to me and I go into the bathroom to do it myself.

So Cappygirl's been MIA several days. I hope that means she has some news to report soon!

Unfortunately I can't say the same....

Hi!! I had my 30 week appointment this AM. Up 8lbs total. The doctor was not concerned as long as I am eating, which I am! I am measuring exactly 30 weeks so we are hoping since my U/S up to now don't show Ryan measuring more than a few days ahead and my stomach is measuring perfect that we might have a smaller baby. I am scheduling a c-section for 40w3-4d and hoping I go into labor before that on my own for the VBAC. I have my next three appointments scheduled and then it's on to weekly appointments!!

My doctor's office does two swabs for the GBS test. Oh so much fun!

My mom told me last night she got all excited at work yesterday afternoon, because she was not in her office and got paged that she had a phone call. Turned out to be the secretary from our church calling her! She totally thought it was me calling to say I was in the hospital!

did everyone hear about this?

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml10/10115.html

I have to check mine to see if it is one of the ones on the recall list.

I've been working like crazy in the nursery. I got the bedding for the crib at my shower on Sunday so I washed that and put that on. I've been washing tons of clothes and trying to organize them in drawers. The split size is what gets me. If it says 3-6 months, should I put it with 3 months or 6? sigh  I think someone said that it should be the higher of the sizes.

I went to Target this morning and they had a bunch of baby stuff on clearance. I got an Avent bottle sterilizer. You put it in the microwave and 2 minutes later your bottles are good to go. It comes with 2 bottles and holds 6. It was only about $15. Anyone have one of these? I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it, but I figured I would grab it while I was there

Hula - I have a Avent Sterlizer ... It was nice to have on hand I guess. I used it on the bottles in the beginning before I used them and then a few times when DS would be sick, I'd use it for the bottles and nipples. Probably not worth full price but for $15 and getting the two bottles, I say keep it.

I have been working on the nursery too. Almost done with the painting!!

I saw keep the 3-6 with the 6 months clothes. I don't know!! :-) I am hoping to get the furniture in the room by the end of the week, this weekend and go from there. I feel like I am in a time crunch but honestly, I have plenty of time!!:-)

BabyTiger - Soon, soon.

Hulagirl - Go with the smaller of the 2 sizes. So 3-6 months put with 3 months. That way if it runs small you are set and can use it, but if it runs big you can push it aside for later. I found little consistency with sizes so that was what I ended up doing to be sure we didn't outgrow stuff before we got to wear it.

Oh, and with my first I was in WDW right after we found out she was a girl, so I bought some cute little pink Minnie outfits that said "6 months". Apparently Disney meant 3-6 months, and so by the time I got them out for her they were sorta snug. So even stuff with just 1 size on it now I put in the lower group, like '3 months' is lumped in with 0-3 for me.

BabyTigger - That is too funny about your mom! She must be very excited and ready to meet her newest grandson.

My mom will be coming down when this baby comes and has been calling me like 5 times a day over the past week or so. I think she thinks that if she calls me and I am fine that she can stave off labor another day!

DMickey - Sounds like you are measuring great and will hopefully get to try the VBAC if you want to when the time comes.

I am so hoping my OB says this baby isn't measuring as large as the ultrasound estimated since she is not budging! The US puts her about 2.5 weeks ahead right now, and has been for awhile. I kinda feel like she's a little lower today, either that or walking has just become more annoying. So maybe she's making her decent or something.

ditto on what Justine says.

Lucas started wearing 3-6m at 2m and outgrew them by 4. He's into 12m now. You never know how your baby will grow and you don't want to have something set aside only to find out they've outgrown it!!
