That sounds like our exact situation, and I'm really hoping that he decides to make his appearance on his own...although my fear is my water breaking at school! We have an appointment with the specialist on Wednesday morning to confirm the weight and size readings that my normal OB took Friday.Linzybrooke - My son was born at 36 weeks and was 8 lbs 4 oz. I had an ultrasound the week before he was born and they estimated his weight to be 6 lbs 10 oz (obviously +/- 1 lb) and my dr scheduled an induction for me for 38 weeks. I'm also small so the concern was not so much his weight (my daughter was born 15 days early, also 8 lbs 4 oz) but that his head was measuring very large and if he got much bigger they didn't know if he'd fit or if I'd end up needing a c-section. Clearly either my son or my body knew that he wasn't gonna fit if he grew any larger as he came out on his own 2 weeks before the induction. Had he gone to term the dr thinks he would have been about 11 lbs. As it was, at 1 month old he was over 10 lbs and he lost a bunch of weight in the beginning, so I can only imagine his size had he stayed in. Good luck with whatever your dr decides to do regarding inductions or whatever. It was sort of nerve wracking for me so I can imagine how you feel.
I haven't felt the nesting bug at all...I hate to clean though, and think my DH is nesting more than me as well!Well I'm still around...still enjoying the yoga ball, putting my feet up other times. I think DH is nesting more than me - he's a massive pack rat and has been cleaning out his "man room" (aka basement) for the past two days.![]()
I love the name Tierney, so pretty! And on that note, it's looking like Tierney will be the first name! I told my husband I'd be buying a baby name book so we could look through it and find some options and he said "OMG, please, no, anything but the book. You can name her Tierney, it's fine with me." He may sound like he was kidding, and to some degree he was, but he also truly has no desire to search through a baby book and compile a list of names for a 2nd time, then hope some of them overlap with mine, then narrow it down from there. 1st time around we did that and still took months to agree on Madison's middle name so I think he'd do about anything to avoid that process again. Works for me!
I had a meeting at the kids' school today about being a room parent/field trip coordinator in my daughter's class this year and found out that the father of a little girl in her class passed away on Saturday. I lost my dad when I was 17yo and it was hard so I can't imagine being 6yo or nearly 4yo and really not understanding why that had to happen. He was sick a fairly long time so the kids didn't get to see him too often in recent months which much make it even worse on all of them. Things like that I will never truly understand.
Now, I need to get ready to pick up my son, who was not quite as eager to get to school today as he was Friday morning. Hopefully he had a good day.
That poor little girl. My thoughts go out to her and her family!

and congrats to you!
Alexander Robert was born on 9/15 at 7:06am. 7 pounds 2 ounces, 20 inches long. We came home this afternoon and he's a champ at eating!
) and she said she'd meet me at the hospital. They checked me in and found out I was at 5cm!
That really shocked me - I didn't think I'd be that far along.
Didn't take any of the pain away but I was laughing and talking inbetween contractions for the next hour.
The cord was around his neck so DH didn't get a chance to cut the cord. Ended up with a second degree tear and some "friends and family" as my midwife calls them.
