Moms Panel Results!?

Thanks guys for lifting my spirits! I feel so foolish feeling the way I do, but knew you fellow DISers would understand.
I'm certainly not going to let anything ruin the magic for our upcoming trip and feel so blessed that we are able to even have the opportunity to go to Disney World as often as we do.

As a previous poster mentioned, I will still be planning trips for family members, friends and perfect strangers.
Knowing that I have not only simply helped plan a vacation but that I've played a small role in helping create life long family memories.
If I can help a family get more bang for their buck and be well prepared... then I know that I am giving just a portion of the magic that Disney has given to me and my family.

Lots of pixie dust to all of you finalist! Part of the joy of Disney is sharing happiness with others and I can't wait to celebrate along with the chosen few.

I am pretty busy at work today, but I am still just watching the clock go by. The call is supposed to some around 4 eastern today, so until then, I am just hanging...you know chillin'

I am wearing a tinkerbell shirt that my kids gave me for Christmas under my sweater today at work! SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....

And this may be more then any of you wanted to hear, but I have my Mickey boxers on as well. I mean who would turn down a guy wearing Mickey boxers, right?

If any of you don't make it, please remember you are in really good company and that cutting the list to 12 must have been almost impossible. I believe there will be a next time and don't forget (the best part of all!)....

Although I didn't apply for the Mom's Panel......please allow me to share why I would be the perfect for the panel.
"A wish is a powerful thing, especially when it comes from the heart."

Since the age of 5, I have been fortunate enough to be able to make numerous trips to Walt Disney World.

My passion for all things Disney is so infectious that I'm often asked to help plan vacations for family members, friends and perfect strangers.
Growing up in a middle class, all American family....my parents always found a way to make sure we had a family vacation with the majority of them going to Disney World.
In 2005, I was able to take my husband and 3 year old daughter on their first trip to WDW and later that same year, I took my 73 year old mother in law on her first trip. We will soon take our fifth trip as a family.
I feel as though I am able to help families plan their trips, not only because of my extensive knowledge of Disney but my ability to travel on very limited funds.
I get the most joy out of helping families plan who once thought they could never afford to go to WDW. Although we always stay at value resorts, I feel it is impossible to have more fun than we have on our trips.
The memories we make at Disney, are priceless!

Have they mentioned if you will be permitted to continue to post on message boards about Disney? I was wondering if they will limit the sharing of your new found training information?

It would be a real bummer if we loose any of you as regular posters here!

I worked up a new list that I think includes all 12 of you. I am still missing first names and hometowns on many of you so if you want to share that I will add it to my list. If you are uncomfortable with that information being public, then I certainly understand that too!

I'm just going to take a few seconds and say my peace before the results are announced. You guys should all be VERY proud of yourselves. I know there will be some disappointed people (none of our members ) today, but those who don't make it should hold their head high. We know it is down to 26 and there are only 12 slots on the panel so there will be some who won't advance. PLEASE don't be too disappointed if you don't make it and remember we are HERE FOR YOU! I know how I felt after round 2 so I am not going to say you are not entitled to feel sad, because you are. I guess it's just the mom in me but I hate it when people are sad. I know how pumped up you all are and I don't want anyone's heart to ache (for too long anyway). Just think, they'll call you if something opens up before they call us.
Enough on that. Guess what I'm getting from UPS today? Our DL tickets and travel package!!! Can't wait.

Hi, there! I just wanted to send out my well wishes and high hopes for all of you. I've been lurking here, reading your stories and I feel like I've gotten to know so many of you. So today I'm crossing my fingers for you and sending good thoughts!

I feel so proud of all our DISers who applied, regardless of where you ended up in the process. YOU'RE a big part of the reason I love Disney, because Disney is what its guests make it. And you help make it a friendly, magical place. Thank you--and good luck!

(Btw, I'm not a Disney "Mom" or even a Disney "Parent." I kind of more of a Disney Aunt, I guess. Or Disney Freak/Geek/Nerd, take your pick. You think there will ever be a panel for that last one? )

Eileen - The background check was a very standard one, not detailed. They asked for 7 years of residency and we signed a release.

Twende - I'm not sure about the posting, if panelists would be allowed to post on other forums or not. Many have speculated that they would not, but they did not say anything (to me at least) in the interview about that one way or another. Maybe they are waiting to address that issue with whomever they select.

Josh - Gotta get the mouse in wherever you can manage.

Just a hair over 3 hours now. I sure hope Erin was right about that 4pm thing!
