DH & I take the boys to DW every other year.

This year (the odd year) I've managed to gather three other Disney (nut) moms and we are going without kids or spouses for 4 days.

What I'm looking forward to:

Actually watching the fireworks and not constantly counting my kids.

Drinking a bottle of water without anyone else wanting any.

Not changing diapers.

Not breaking up brotherly love spats.

Not having to carry anyone else's stuff.

Not pushing a stroller.

Going on Dinosaur (boys are chicken).

Seeing the "girly" shows - I have four boys, they veto me.

Not having to spend an hour at the boneyard or Honey I shrunk the kids.

Not having to tell the kids to "stop touching the rope".

I can actually go into a store! And not buy anything if I don't want to!

I can sit on a bench!

I can skip the majority of Fantasy Land.

I can go to Pleasure Island.

My three yr old won't lick the salt off my fries and try to put them back!

Not sitting at the barbershop for an hour.

Of course, my DH has informed me that I'll be calling him by day 2 crying that I'm homesick. That is a possibility....but at least I'll know for next time. Wish me luck!

I'm taking a girl's only trip in August. :woohoo: DH is staying home with the kids and I am going with just my mother and sister. Of course, Mom is not going childless, because my DS and I will be with her. But, we are both adults, so she won't have to worry like she would have if we were little. ;)

I, too, am looking forward to....

Not having to hold someone's hand constantly

Using the restroom and not having to wipe someone else's hiney

Not having to cut up someone else's food

Not having to share my food/snack if I don't want to

Being able to eat my dinner while it is still warm instead of having to run to the potty as soon as my food arrives

Only getting myself ready in the mornings

Having to pack for just me

Shopping for the perfect gift for DH and the kids and not be interrupted a million times or told I don't really need that particular item

I'm sure there are many more I am missing. I, too, will miss my brood like crazy, but I know I will have a blast!! Have a great time on your trip!!

That's so great!:dance3:

Wish I could convince some of my friends to do a mom's only trip.

I'm doing a solo mom's only trip Aug. 26-29th to refresh before school begins and finally tour the World Showcase at my leasure.

I see you gals are going around the holidays! Good luck with that!

I'm going on a similar trip in September with my 3 college roommates, and am looking forward to everything you've listed! We also want to do some kind of spa treatment while we're there, just something simple like a pedicure. Anyone know of any place to do this?

The Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs, and the Dolphin (or is it the Swan?) all have spas. Here are their websites:

Everything you guys have already said

going to Jellyrolls!

not having to look at a menu to make sure there is something my picky eater will eat

I lost my father,my uncle and my aunt is dying as we speak this summer. My sister and I always go away for a weekend in Nov to Christmas shop so we decided we need a dose of the happiest place on earth and we will spen 9days at Pop Century and I can hardly wait. We are so excited we will get to do all the things we love about Disney and no child my DS 15 year old who says to me Your really not taking me and a friend and my reply is yes I'm not and I just can't wait no nagging no schedule other than the one we want to keep. It's been since 2002 since we were there and 2004 in Disneyland. I can't wit to see it all decorated for Christmas and get up early and go with out the DS saying I can't believe you got me up this early. Shop til I drop and do everything I can.

If anyone has any suggestions we will be there the week after Thanksgiving.

Thanks T
