Mommy & Me Girly Fun Bday 10/31 Last Day & AT home

You had me at no TSA :)

I'll have a look at your Jan 2013 thread! I've been following the one that Kim started. This is the first year I'm going twice in 12 months - never in my life have I had to think about buying APs!

Yep, Kim and I both started Jan 2103 threads but in different sections. Just wanted to make sure you were connected to them.

We always try to plan 2 trips in 365 days...so we get AP a lot. Of course with DVC discount it makes it much more affordable. But I like being able to go into the park for just a few hours and not worrying about using up a whole day's ticket. Makes me more relaxed.

I'm here and ready to hear all about your trip!popcorn::

Yay! Welcome! I can't wait for this!! In just 1 day, I'll be able to say, "I'm going to Disney NEXT Month!!""":dance3::banana:

That roomette looks like a nice space for the two of you. There is something wonderful about having your own car at Disney. I don't like being without it.

I agree!! We are just not bus people, I guess. However, I've always said the primary reason was with Elizabeth...diaper bags, extra snacks, small toys, her falling asleep and having to fold up the stroller, standing on the bus with a sleeping (dead weight) baby.

But since we aren't taking her this trip, I cant use those excuses to justify our own vehicle. Now it's really just about convenience, I guess.

And the fact that if Rachel does fall asleep on the way home from a park, I don't have to worry about her falling down, since she'll be in her booster car seat!

My number one reason is just in case I ever have to buy anything I have a way to go get it.

Love the tutu and top. They are perfect.

That drive to airport does not sound fun or the expense of taxi, so good move keeping the autotrain :goodvibes

ditto this! Love the tutu colors. And I think that roomette looks awesome :thumbsup2

Loving your report! Don't leave out any train details ok, even tho we are always flying, I love to read about other ways to get there, so this will be fun!:thumbsup2

Welcome!! We love taking the train. If you glance through any of my recent TR, you'll find more info on the AT, too. Starting with May 2010. There is a Table of Contents for each TR, so you can just skip ahead to the train section.

We used to fly all the time but for some reason, the airlines aren't making it easy for us and then we fell in love with the Autotrain.

yep, that too!! We now love to stop at Walmart and get some cheaper Disney stuff there. The stores at WDW are just loaded with Disney everything and so much cheaper. Makes great pixie dust presents.

Thanks! I can't wait to get the 2 tops -- yes, I bought another top now from Gymboree for Rachel that matches the mermaid theme. It was 30% off plus an additional 20% off, so now she'll have 2 tops to wear. She may just wear that tutu everyday!!

Minor update:

Rachel is due for a haircut. Haven't had one since our January trip to Disney at Main STreet Harmony shop. So I asked Rachel if she'd like to get one now and she suggested we wait until Disney!

So off to reschedule our MK days to include one day at Mermaid Pirates League and the other for a hair cut and pixie dust ... but this time I will keep my mouth closed if we ride AstroOrbiter and she has pixie dust in her hair!!

Hi!! I'm following along! We are headed to Disney in July as well! I just had my daughter and look forward to future mommy-daughter events like this!! The train looks like a lot of fun, my son would be so excited!

The outfit is adorable. I've made many similar tutus they are super easy and cheap! Like 5-10 dollars! Just google no sew tutu there is a great video on you tube!

Have a great time!! Having a daughter is just more magical IMHO when you are talking Disney. I know the boys have the pirates, Phineas & Ferb and Toy Story characters but the girls have ALL the princesses!!!

I was not really into them when I first went to Disney as a teenager but once I had my first girl, it's been pretty much princesses and fairies and Minnie since she was nearly 2yo.

I love it!!

Yes, the train is great -- the kids really do love it ... esp going door to door!

Thanks for the info on the no sew tutu. I had never seen it before and maybe I should learn to make them myself. Rachel wants a Rapunzel colored one and Elizabeth (my other DD) wants a Sleeping Beauty color one.

Ok, I just watched those videos and love it!! I am going to take the plunge and try to make my own. What a great idea.

THANK YOU!! I didn't know you could make them so easily (no sewing machine). I would also like to add some appliques to them to dress it up a bit. Need to see what will stick to the tulle (fabric glue) or if I need to hand sew stuff one. I'm thinking some hearts or jewels would be great.

You mean you don't want to eat glitter? :rotfl:

Getting a hair cut there sounds like so much fun!

Everyone is always raving about Pixie Dust. Apparently ingesting it is not the way it works?

The airlines are making me mad not going direct from IAD to MCO. I did find a one way direct on Southwest for us in November but we have to make a stop coming home. Augh!

I love the tutu. They are so easy to make. I made one for my DD's 1st birthday and am planning to make one for the summer and at least one or two for our trip. I have not tried putting anything on the tulle.

How fun you are doing the Mermaid package. I am hoping to get both of my boys haircuts at MK this trip but we will see how shaggy they look.

Oh and the roommettes are really nice on the AT. We had one when we went back in 2008. It was DH, our oldest and me, he was still under 2 so we didn't have to pay for him. The big window was fantastic and the bathroom was only 2 doors down. The only bad part at that time was that we were upstairs and my son didn't like the stairs you had to take to go down to the dining car but that shouldn't be an issue for you.

yay for another Disney haircut!!!:thumbsup2

I love the idea of a no-sew tutu! I will keep this in mind for my future DD! I'm soooo happy I can actually say that now!

Ok, here is my first attempt at a no sew tutu skirt. I made this in about 3 interrupted hours!

This is for Elizabeth. she wanted Sleeping Beauty colors with ribbon accents in blue dots (remember when fairies change her dress from blue to pink?)

Elizabeth decided to wear the bow in the back.

Thanks to Mrs. Teddy for the initial inspiration and WDWCP96 for hers, too. I would never have thought to do it w/o your input!

Did that. Done that. Don't want to do it again!:lmao:

good one chele :rotfl:

Haircut at barber shop sounds great :goodvibes

It's funny how some things just stick out in our kids minds. For Rachel it is the Garden View Tea and haircut at Disney.

Getting a hair cut there sounds like so much fun!

Um....no. ;)

Yeah, for finding at least one 1-way flight. It is so ridiculous to take a 2 hour flight and make it become a 5 hour flight with layover/stops.

Thanks to you and Mrs. Teddy I made my first tutu! I will definitely be making more.

On the AT (now), the dining cars are upstairs but yeah, you have to do stairs to go from one to the other if you get a roomette or bedroom downstairs. But we consider waddling like penguins on the train, part of the fun!

yay for another Disney haircut!!!:thumbsup2

You got to try one. They are super easy like PP said and your daughter, particularly a baby will look stunning in it. Go with no top...just the tutu skirt and no one will be able to look at her picture w/o gushing!:goodvibes:thumbsup2

And yeah, we are all so happy that you can say that now too!!:dance3::yay::banana::cool1:
