... were the last words my sister in law said to her Mom...

Trisha lived a life so filled with love.

44 years ago she was born to a 27yo mother. She was born with Down's Syndrome, something no one expected. Her Mom, a neonatal nurse knew her child was different the minute she was born. But it didn't matter to her, she was her "forever baby".

People suggested she should institutionalize her. People wanted her to give her drugs to stop her from having fits. Her Mother decided everything for her and made all the decisions because she was her "forever baby."

When she was five they found out she had a hole in her heart. The doctors told her Mom that surgery will help her to live about 10 more years.

Her mother refused the surgery. She lived 29 more years.

People always asked how, they were told that LOVE kept her alive!

And it did.

Yesterday Trisha took her last breath, after telling the Mom who fought to keep her here for so many years "Mommy, I'm going to Heaven..."

I have no doubt in my soul that that is what she did.

God bless,

Robinrs

I have no doubt in my soul that that is what she did.

I have no doubt either. I'm sure the angels were there to greet her. God speed to her.

what a touching story. I'm sorry for your loss, but what a wonderful love to have in your life.

 :sad1: I am so sorry. It sounds as though she touched many lives.....

Trisha is now an angel in heaven while her mother is still an angel on earth! Your tribute to these special ladies brought tears to my eyes. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Robin - thank you so much for sharing this about Trisha. I have had the fortune to know other special needs individuals and to have been the recipient of their love.

That is so sweet. She is certainly in Heaven now. :sunny:

Best wishes to you and all of Trisha's family during this time.

She will undoubtedly become her Mom's guardian angel. They both sound like amazing people.

Amen. Robin, my prayers are with her dear mother as well as you and your entire family during this horribly painful time. God will look after her now.

What a lovely tribute. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. I am sure she is in heaven. May she rest in peace.

Robin, you made me weep. Bless Trisha. I pray that her mother finds peace and realizes what a terrific mother she was for her "forever baby".
