Mommy and Daddy want to go ALONE just once, please!

You should definitely go! This will be our 4th year in a row at F&W. We always make it a long weekend. Our two boys are in their mid/late teens and grandma and grandpa come to town and "keep an eye on things" for us. I'd be lying if I said we didn't have just a little bit of guilt, but that's what margaritas are for ;) We also make sure we don't do their favorite rides as well. In some strange way that "sacrifice" makes us feel better! Go and enjoy!

My husband and I have decided to spend a weekend at WDW by ourselves, NO KIDS! (we have 4 so this is a once in a blue moon opp!!) We will be going May 29 - 31. We went last month with the kids and have a one day ticket left, so we will be using that for one day. Any suggestions on what we should do the rest of the time? We will be arriving early on the 29th and leaving late on the 31st.

We have opted against telling the kids exactly where we will be going and staying for the weekend, as I think we would have to sleep with one eye open from now on if they knew we went without them

My wife and I have been going without the kids every year for the past 6.
We love it.
I would recommend early December. So much to see. And you can go at your own pace and look all the boring decorations (as my kids would say) to our hearts content.
I would also recommend a keys to the kingdom tour. We took one a MK. It was great.
Enjoy.

My suggestion...don't hesitate-go for it! DH and I have had our trips in the Spring, but I would love to go duing F&W. Have a great time!!! The parks are so wonderful that time of year.

This may be a luxury that you can't afford. You see, you can't put on your vacationing hat without taking off your parent hat.

I would urge you not to leave the three kids home without an adult (grandma?) staying with them. Too much of a chance of getting into trouble such as trying to host a party and getting lots of uninvited guests.

um...i don't see anywhere where OP mentioned leaving their children home alone. I think your remark is quite presumptive.

OP, I have gone with and without kids--while taking them can be fun, it's also more stressful. I think you will have a WONDERFUL time. I would check out the 'Premium Plan for one NIght thread' ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2404255 ). It's a WONDERFUL way to do Adult Disney affordably! We do it do the Premium for one night every trip now and we love it...we get to do tours, La Nouba and fine dining for a very affordable price. You can PM me if you have questions, I will help you find the answers. :)

Leave the kids and ENJOY!

I'll join in with the same advice to OP regarding an adults-only trip. Go. Now!

DH and I have two lovely sons, but only one has been to WDW. While they were little, we were too busy working two jobs apiece to keep the roof over our heads, so it wasn't until our youngest was a senior in HS that we could afford to go. (Our oldest won't get on a plane). So we brought our little prince to the World, where the crowds overwhelmed him so much he spent most of the week in the resort pool chatting it up with teenage girls in bathing suits. Hey, it was his idea of a fabulous vacation.

So Hubby and I got to enjoy our week as an adult couple, and we've been going pretty much every year since. The kids stay home, (they're adults now), and we have the time of our lives. We eat when we want, we see what we want, and we don't have to keep track of anyone but ourselves. After witnessing multiple toddler meltdowns, we're convinced that Disney is better for grownups!! :rotfl2:

SO glad I found this tread today! We were planning a trip in November for all of us, but I really wanted to change that and just hubby and I go! My parents are already going to be having them in June for a week, and it is our 11th wedding anniversary that week. Man! Even the thought of it just seems perfect! Thank you all for helping me NOT feel bad about wanting this!

OP, go and and a GREAT TIME!!

DH and I just booked a trip for just the two of us yesterday!! We're going in January. 6 days of no whining, no "i wants", no drama (can you tell we have a preteen ;)) DH and I are very much looking forward to it.
