Ok I want to do a vow renewal for our 20th and DH is more than fine with it but the more I think about the money, the more I sort of think is the moment really worth the $. ok we would spend it some other way but could do something at home creative disney like for much less... but then its not disney( I know...) My romantic and disney side say yes go for it, but my conserve self says ok 20 years is worth celebrating but for that$.... just rambling. we had a very traditional type wedding and all ( no regrets that way) but a disney vow renewal would be so us and so unique to share with our dd's as a family....I know I won't find an answer this way but just needed to sort of say out loud.. any thoughts?

.........JMHO but memories are worth more to me then $$.........so which memories would you cherish more? An at home ceremony or a Disney ceremony? Money comes and goes and if you have enough to comfortably splurge on a Disney ceremony and you think you'd cherish that memory more I say go for it! :cool1: Congrats on 20 years! That right there is truly magical......I can only hope to be so lucky:)

I am in the early stages of planning a DFTW VR for our 20th anniversary on June 26, 2008. I got my inspiration from Janet2k, who planned and executed her 20th anniversary VR in these pages:

Sure, I could save myself and my husband a big chunk of change, but I think you should go with what your heart tells you.

We just got married but we've been together 10 years. I think it's easy to start thinking of your relationship as commonplace but 20 years is something worth making a big deal of! Just about any event could be passed by with little celebration on the basis that it isn't worth the money - but then what fun would life be? It's the moments we make special that we remember. Take the time to truly enjoy your anniversary, it's an amazing and wonderful thing to have spent 20 years with someone you love, with all the little everyday things that make your relationship work and all the hardships you've gone though as you both grew and changed. You're both worth the money and your relationship is worth celebrating. :goodvibes

I say GO FOR IT! Take life by the hand and dance!!

Thanks for your input everything said pretty much I have said to myself and I agree with it all, but I guess just hearing it from others assures me I am not going over the edge per se. We go to disney almost annually and there is now where else that holds as many special moments for the two of us (we went on our HM) or our family. we have taken so many other family members with us over the years to share disney that it has special memories all around (my parents, my brothers, his brothers, my mom and his dad for the first time in two weeks and my daughter wants to go in dec to see the xmas decorations and celebrate her 13th bday( and yes we will be doing that too). I know what my heart is telling me...... just saying everything sort of out loud again and just rambling. everyone thanks for your thoughts so far.

The only thing I can add to the other posters' excellent advice is, whatever you do, don't think about what else you could buy with the money you are spending on the vow renewal. :rotfl: I know my wedding is going to cost more than some of the vacations and material possessions on my wish list, but the memories will be worth it! :thumbsup2

I know that and I really do know what my heart is saying....which celebrate the way we know we will enjoy and where we will enjoy together as a couple and a family. Thank you.
