Mom wants your advice on special treat

My DD14 just won second place in the state wide spanish competition and my DS11 scored 100 on his academic achievment tests! We are leaving for DW Sat, will arrive Sun.

I wanted to do something extra special to celebrate their achievements, but can't spend a fortune. One thing I was thinking about was going to Beaches and Cream and getting the Kitchen Sink for dinner. I have told my kids (4) about how we would sometimes eat icecream for dinner when I was a kid. They have always thought it sounded like fun and wanted to do it to (of course) BUT my DH is big on nutrition. I figured I would over rule him in this case...what do you think? Or is there something else you would suggest...something you might like to get as a reward?

As a 19 year old girl, I would LOVE it if my parents let me eat ice cream for dinner. In fact, my first night at college that is EXACTLY what I did!!! If you had bundles of money to spend, I would say buy tickets to see La Nouba, but the Kitchen Sink sounds like a great idea too!

yea, i would think that would be a great idea as well, if i didnt get to eat ice cream for dinner, but i have to say i do get to eat ice cream for dinner either at school or even somtimes my mom lets me or i just do it.

you should just have an im the leader day you do what they want in the order they want and you take turns we did that in january . Worked out great, if any video gamers, Try disney quest 30.00 per person i think though hope its fun.

i think the kitchen sink idea is a great idea since u only want to spend a little bit of money. if ur dh doesnt want to do it say its for the kids since they did so good on their accomplishments.. im sure if it was a surprise for the kids he wouldnt mind.
