mom wants to take a big family trip!! Long.

my DM want to take a WDW trip in 2009. It would be DM and DD, myself and DH kids DD12, DD8, DS6, DD5, DS2 my sister her kids DD3 DS1(these are their ages right now not at travel time)

Im not sure about this. They have never been there. But DH and I and our kids have been 2xs 2005 and 2006 we had planned to go ourselves next year for our Anni. then take kids after that again.

DM wants me to plan everything. I told here up front we would not spend the entire time together. (I cannot stand my sister neither can my DH,) We would get together for one meal a day and some special thing like fantasmic etc.. We

I wont tell kids about it yet because my mother says things like this a lot and never follows through. But my kids will go again if not with all of us then with mommy and daddy.

DM is planning on saving like crazy to have it paid for they want to pay for it all I just have to plan it.

Im looking at 6days 5night not sure where to stay. Was looking at the Board walk villa Grand villa if we can rent/ points?

or get 3 rooms else where. We loved the Wilderness lodge and would like to stay there again. I really don know what would be a good idea for a place. I know nothing about renting or buying points. Help please?!

We will stay on site have PH , and DDP.

If anyone has any input help me.

Sounds like a good idea. That is the way we went on cruises with my in-laws. We agreed to meet for dinner and usually shows afterward, but other than that it was hit or miss.

I soooooo get the whole sister thing!!!!!! Seriously! I'm so glad that I'm not alone in that!

So from one sister to another...DON'T GET A GRAND VILLA! I know from which I speak. Get your own space. The quarters are too close for that. I would even go so far as to call the CRO of the place you are staying and confidentially asking that you be assigned a room away from the others.

Call Grand Gatherings and get a CM assigned to you for help. I say do the planning, control the situation.

I thought the grand villa was a bad idea. I cant hardly be in the same room as my sister. I know if we were in the same room it would not be pretty.

I would say go and have a great time. Be clear about what time you will spend together, like the one, meal, etc and if you do not like your sis then do not a Grand Villa. Get three rooms so that you can definitely be away from her when you need to be.

Yeah, seperate rooms are the way to go. We go on a family trip every year to the same place with all of DHs family. We each get our own little condo thing and it works out well. The cousins get plenty of playtime and DH and I get time away from the whole gang.(Not our kids, just the rest of the gang.) A few years ago it was suggested to rent a big huge place with lots of rooms but shared kitchen and living spaces. I told DH if that happened we were moving out of state because I knew that was the only way we would get out of this trip and I was NOT sharing a house!

I think it is awesome that she wants you to plan it and that you have already set the ground work that you will not be together all of the time.
