"Mom, this is like a whole new Disney!" New 7/30 - pg 43 - Final Thoughts & PTR Link

I'm happy Zach rode ToT and all went well! :) That's awesome! The photo of him looking scared in front of the sign is hysterical! LOL!

Michael would have a very hard time with 50's PT, a bit like Alex did. He's also autistic and doesn't really understand joking/sarcasm, stuff like that. (Characters and anything out of the ordinary also frighten him so I'm not sure when he might be able to make a WDW trip honestly.)

what is w/ the wall here in front of NYC ? oh man that will look terrible for our picture...

Tim took Alex to RnRC. Zach & I headed to ToT... He asked for his headphones then posed for this picture:

I just love this picture...classic!

Up next: Our last day - where did we go? Julie - do you remember what park I emailed you from? :confused3

Oh no...I remember the email, but where were you UGH you should have told me there was going to be a quiz

Hi Amy! I'm back from our camping trip (agreed that it is a MUST for a family with boys!) and all caught up!

Love the updates! Zach's Phineas and Ferb shirt is way cute! :goodvibes Sorry about the minor meltdown. I've always thought it would be fun to meet up with family at Disney, but the more I read these reports, the more I think maybe we should just stick with the 5 of us! The nightmares of touring with a big group might not be worth it....especially with me being a "always have a plan" type of girl and my extended family not so much! :rolleyes1

A laid back resort day is a great idea! The pool looks fabulous! Good for you for saying something to the smokers. :thumbsup2

Yay for Zach for braving TOT!

You're back!! :cool1: I hope you had a great camping trip!!

Zach has two P & F shirts, but they are huge so he doesn't wear them much... so maybe you'll see them in my next TR. ;)

A trip with extended family could be fun - but we've had people with us year after year so it's getting old... The days with our own family are definitely easier!

Awesome! So glad he rode it :yay:! Love his TOT shirt :thumbsup2

:woohoo: He loved it!!

WDW is amazing for kids with autism. You can avoid characters so don't be afraid to give it a try! If the other kids have their hearts set on a character meal, you can always split up or just keep your distance from the characters. I think he'd have a great time as long as you do your homework and go at his pace.

Just wanted to test your memory...

How about you Doreen?? Are you out there... I'm sure you remember where we were headed this morning! Which is actually a different park than where I emailed Julie from... :rolleyes1

So glad Zach conquered the TOT and enjoyed it!! :cool1: My DS finally did the same thing in November (except I had to bribe him to get him on it!).

Looks like another awesome day at WDW for your family! :goodvibes

:tiptoe: Hey!

Kathy

KATHY!!! Oh sorry... you were trying to make a quiet entrance... :rolleyes1

Yes - it was a big thing for Zach... after riding it when he was four I wasn't sure he'd ever ride again.

Hi Amy!:goodvibes Catching up again!:thumbsup2

It looks like you had a fun resort day!! Aww...relaxing in the pool is one of our favorite things to do on vacation!;) It's always nice to have a little down time from the parks.

Such a cute picture of Zach in front of ToT!!:goodvibes I didn't realize they would let you skip the pre-show. I know that Noah would have been so happy if we would have skipped it! It really freaked him out!

That's so great that Zach braved ToT and he loved it!!!:yay: Oh and love the shirt! What a great way to celebrate the occasion!! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean... I feel like I'm playing catch up all the time! :faint:

I don't know why that preshow is so scary for kids - it kind of makes me laugh because it's so ridiculous... but I guess they think it's real. :confused3

It was a great resort day followed by a great night at DHS!! Last day coming up... :sad2:

First I realize I didn't answer one of Julie's questions... Yes - that was a barricade up in front of the Streets of America city backdrop... more referbs... they were everywhere!! I would think it would be long gone by yoru visit, especially with the OL.

OK - Back to the trip report... Saturday, May 1, 2010... our last park day. :sad1:

I know Doreen (disneyfan61) would be able to guess this one because we had a DISmeet planned!! Our original plan was to visit Animal Kingdom - for the second time. But we'd missed so much at MK and really needed another full day to explore the park - we had lots of old stuff & new stuff still on our to-do list. I think we all would have been happy to skip AK and spend the full day at MK, except for Alex. He wanted to stick with the plan. After a little back and forth we decided not to push it... we knew he'd be agitated all day if we skipped AK so we agreed to stop by for a couple quick rides.

We arrived at AK right around 9am. We entered the park without anything we couldn’t carry in our pockets. No backpack! And we didn’t get a stroller! We had a plan… Dinosaur & EE! But first I had to check in with Doreen for a possible DIS meet. I gave her a call as we walked into AK but it went right to voicemail. We continued on toward Dinoland so Tim could take Alex on Dinosaur. Zach wasn’t interested so we took a ride on Triceratops Spin.

As we boarded my phone rang… it was Doreen! We chatted as we spun around the top of Dinoland! She and her DH had been on EE when I called earlier and they were heading over to Tusker House for breakfast. Unfortunately we needed to head out to MK to make up for lost time. So no DIS meet with Doreen… Too bad we hadn’t gone to EE first, we might have been able to make it work… We enjoyed the rest of our spin:

After our ride we met up with Tim & Alex and headed over to EE.

Zach was complaining of being thirsty, but we decided it would be better to wait until after EE so he could enjoy his drink while we walked out of the park. Nancy sat this one out and tried to snap a shot of us. These aren’t us, but some nice EE shots:

Zach was really thirsty and really tired and therefore really whiny! He wanted a drink & he wanted it asap! We headed over to the frozen lemonade place in Asia to quench his thirst! We made our way out of AK & back to our car… luckily it was close. We drove over to the TTC & took the monorail into MK.

This is where we learned our lesson about early bird check-in with Southwest. Our 24 hour check-in window was set to open as we boarded the monorail! Tim & I got our phones ready… I was checking in our family & Tim was checking in his mom. Right at the 24 hour mark we clicked away only to get in the B group! :headache: I think a lot of people pay the extra $10 so they don’t have to worry about it for the return flight. Luckily we are able to pre-board with the boys, but I try to avoid it if we can get in the A group. Laura & I have purchased early bird check-in for our return flights in October – it will be nice to not have to worry about it.

Up next... Our AWESOME last day at MK!!

I love how you got pictures the whole area around Tri-spin while in the air. I have to see if the pan-o-rama feature on my camera will do that while we ride.

fun fun pics! That's tough, to run to a park for 2 rides but you have to do what you have to do! I have a hard time with southwest period....I like knowing where I'm sitting ahead of time....guess it's the control freak in me.

Bummer that the DISmeet didn't work out but I love hearing that an AWESOME day is coming up!

What great pictures of EE and from the view from the dino ride.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

that stinks you didn't get to have your DISmeet.

Can't wait to see what you decide to do at MK.

bummed about no dismeet! but, triceratops spin looks fun! :goodvibes
cant wait to hear about your last day at MK! :wizard:

Great pictures on Triceratops Spin!! I felt like I was riding along with you!!:goodvibes Aww...too bad the DIS-meet didn't work out but Yay for riding EE!! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your day at MK!:thumbsup2

Looks like a nice ride on Triceratop Spin with Zach! :goodvibes

I totally forgot to check in for our return flight last April....UGH! It ended up working out fine, but what a pain! The last thing I want to think about on my last park day is GOING HOME. :sad2:

First I realize I didn't answer one of Julie's questions... Yes - that was a barricade up in front of the Streets of America city backdrop... more referbs... they were everywhere!! I would think it would be long gone by yoru visit, especially with the OL.

good! :goodvibes

very smart!

we are thinking of doing a walkin to MK one day basically for a Fairy Meet Greet wherever that may be...Toontown or MS??? before heading over to AK for some more fun...that would certaintly speed up the process

Ugh...yes that part....Matt and I will have to do the same in Nov, but luckily w/ the phones should be easier...we'll shoot for Group A and most likely pre-board for nathan too....MP's had me purchase the $10 pre-boarding thing too...they offered for us...but I didn't feel right since it's $60 each way

I think for Matt and I next yr I'll do it.

Up next... Our AWESOME last day at MK!!

Mk yes...now what were you doing :scratchin

Oh no - I can't believe it's your last park day already! It seems like you just started this TR. Looks like a fun morning at AK, love the pictures! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Every single time I check in with SW right at the 24 hour mark we are always at the very end of group A or the very beginning of group B. :confused3

I love your AK photos.
Good to know about SW. I'm flying SW for the first time in November for a convention at Disney and will definitely purchase early bird check in.

I love how you got pictures the whole area around Tri-spin while in the air. I have to see if the pan-o-rama feature on my camera will do that while we ride.

A panorama would be very cool!! :thumbsup2 I didn't even think to try that!

I was bummed about the DISmeet... but we actually only live about 30 minutes away from each other so maybe we'll bump into each other in NH. :confused3

It was tough to run to one park for such a short time but it all worked out well!

I love Southwest because they fly direct from Manchester, NH to both Orlando & Tampa and usually have good rates. Plus you can't beat two free bags per person. ;) I'm not known to pack light. :rolleyes1 The seating is the only problem. Luckily we have the option to pre-board with the boys.

What great pictures of EE and from the view from the dino ride.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

that stinks you didn't get to have your DISmeet.

Can't wait to see what you decide to do at MK.

I have over 200 pictures from this one day! I thought I was going to make photobucket crash when I tried to load them all at once! I guess Nancy & I were both in the mood to click away!

MK is coming up soon... hope to have an update tonight. :goodvibes

bummed about no dismeet! but, triceratops spin looks fun! :goodvibes
cant wait to hear about your last day at MK! :wizard:

I have yet to have a DISmeet at Disney... I've tried a few times, it just hasn't worked out. Triceratops spin was a nice way to start the day.

Great pictures on Triceratops Spin!! I felt like I was riding along with you!!:goodvibes Aww...too bad the DIS-meet didn't work out but Yay for riding EE!! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your day at MK!:thumbsup2

We all love EE - so I'm glad we got to ride it again.
