So I have been under a lot of stress lately and the job search has not gone too well so I made a decision today that is both bad and good

I was looking into changing resorts to make my trip a little cheaper but since there are so many people going the week I am going there are no discounts to be had that week ( I booked Poly with a 40% PIN in January) so I had to make a tough decision to change the date of my trip This made me since I was really looking forward to the DIS meet that I had been planning, but this is the best for my family since I will be saving $1500.

So what are the new plans?

We are going Dec 9-17, the 9th is room only at Pop and 10-17 at POR with free dining!!!. Thanks to southwest being great I got my air changed and my rooms are booked.

The best part and the only thing that really made me happy about the change is that I get to keep my CLP reservation for Dec 10th to see Whoppi!!!!

So I tried to quickly work out my days and book some ADR's this morning and I got a couple but I am really gonna look at it tonight and figure out things and will post all of that probably tomorrow.

I also need to go check out the POR FAQ thread since I know nothing about this resort.

So to all my friends going the week before me and scheduled for the meet I am ver sad that I won't be there but I hope you will all still meet and I would love to see a picture!!!!

That stinks! But at least you still get to go! We don't leave until the 10th, so maybe we can still get a quick meet in there! Sorry to hear, you had to change, but at least you are able to find the awesome things that you will be able to do!

Thanks... I am getting excited about it now and can't wait to learn about POR!

On the 9th we will be at DTD for dinner and shopping and the 10th is Epcot day, let me know if that matches any of your plans. I forget you don't live far so you can leave late, one day I would love that!

You're going to love POR. We stayed there in 2008 and it soooo nice.

I know I am very sad too... I feel like I just lost a bunch of friends and I haven't met anyone yet

But....we are staying at POR too and won't be leaving until the 13th!

We decided to keep our LC dinner res and not do the CP package. My dad is sooooooo excited about Whoopi. We are going to wait in line for the first show!

Have fun researching POR! I stayed there with some friends about 10 years ago and all I can remember is that we stayed in the mansion section and the 4 of us had a food and beverage bill of $2000 for the week!! My friend was an executive for a very large company and the company he worked for took care of the bill! That was in my younger days and I didn't even take pics of the resort.

I can't wait to go back...and plan on really enjoying all that POR has to offer.

So sorry to hear you had to change your dates but understand saving that much money. I would have done the same thing in your place. We will still be at POP through the 10th. Gonna start to head to our next destination after a day at the parks on the 10th. Maybe we could still meet!

That would be great, we arrive at MCO at 430 then after we check in we are heading to DTD. The next morning we are gonna relax before checking in to POR since its our Epcot WS day we don't have to rush. I would love to find out how your 1st trip is going!!!!

AND you won't be stressing about $$ or anything else- just enjoying!! So glad Southwest is flexible on changes too- i really need to book with them more often, i just hate that they don't fly direct from DFW. Otherwise, I would use them. With a small kiddo, the connections are killer. But i do like the whole change for free policy. We are booked with AA and i thought about adding a day, but we are STUCK!- it would cost $150 change fee per ticket, plus the difference in fare. they are crazy! lol

anyhow- i think you will still have a fabulous time. We went this past december from the 10th-20th and really enjoyed it. Crowds didn't start to pour in really until the 19th. So you should be good!

WHAT $150 per ticket?? Oh my gosh that is horrible... I am so glad I booked with Southwest and I even got the exact same flight with the same stop for the same $. We stop in Ft Lauderdale but we stay on the plane so I'm ok with that.

I checked the crowd calendar and it still looks like low crowds so that makes me happy, and it will be nice not to stress over the money. Now if only I knew as much about POR as I do about the Poly

Bummer you are changing! I know you were looking forward to Poly. POR is gorgeous too! I have been told great things about their food court and you can't beat the boat to DTD!

I was really looking forward to the Poly but now I can dream about my next trip and if I get a PIN hopefully it will be the Poly!!!

I'm excited about POR, it is the mod I most want to try. We stayed at CBR in 99 but I don't remember much about it

POR is a beautiful resort. We stayed there on our first trip and we loved it. The pool is really pretty and it's a lot of fun to take the boat to DTD. PLUS you saved SO much money! That's awesome! Our dates are Dec. 8-15....maybe we'll cross paths with you!
