Hi Teens, I hope you don't mind me invading your space for a moment. I'll just post and read here. I have a question that I thought someone here would be able to help with better than the rest of the stodgey old adults. :D

My dd is 9 and this will be her 4th trip. I want to do something special for her for Christmas, but she's in that between stage where she is "too little" for PJ's and slippers, but not grown up enough for, well, I don't know what. What is something (as a small gift around $25) that you would have liked to have had as a surprise on a Disney vacation? Pressed Penny book? Autograph book? Epcot passport? Disney themed journal? Photo album? She's getting a camera for the holidays and we leave a month later.

Just so you know I'm getting one of my younger kids (6 yo) a pressed penny book and my ds (3 yo) a Mickey shirt. Does that help or just confuse things?

Thanks for your help and back to your regularly scheduled teen talk!

My kids call me hip cause I wear lots of tie-dye!

Hi!

Don't worry- Parent questions are always welcome here! :)

I really like the idea of a photo album- and maybe she can take the camera and take her own pictures! I also like the idea of a journal- like a journal with characters on it and a pen to match- anything that allows her to remember her trip is a great idea!!

Hope this helps! :bounce:

I agree with Katie. She is getting a camera for Christmas, so the photo album would be special because she can put the photos she takes into it. The journal is a good idea too, though, because then she can write entries in each day about her trip, and always be able to remember it!

yup photo album would be cool!

my bro is 9 and we just got back from DL and the thing he liked the most was this big stuffed animal of Pluto(his favorite character) so maybe you can get a stuff animal too.

I like the idea of a photo album too. My mom does Creative Memories and she made really nice photo albums from our last family trip and the one she and my dad took. Another idea would be to maybe get her a bunch of little things, like keychains and magnets and stuff like that.

i agree w/ teh photo album, but a t-shirt is always nice as well. W/ a t-shirt they can show off where they've been when they go back 2 skool

I agree...I think she would like a photo album to put all the pictures she takes with her own camera. :)

Although I'm not a girl, I got my sister some gel pens when she was that age. Some arts and crafts is also good. If all else fails, watch Nickelodon or The Disney Channel for inspiration...

I'm not a teen, but a mom as well and had to reply. When we took our then 81/2 yo to DD to WDW the last present we picked up, without her knowledge, was a plush Sorcerer Mickey bean bag doll. We had just seen Fantasmic! and stopped in a candy shop on our way to Osborne Lights and when I saw it I told DH that she had to have it as a surprise. We gave it to her that night when she went to bed. She has resepcted this momento more than any other souvenir, or other toys she has for that matter.

I like the photo album too; maybe one of the scrapbooking kits. I bought one at Mouse Gear in Epcot for about $25 two years ago. It came with the binder, pages and protective sleeves. I picked up some stickers there too. You can buy Disney papers at your local craft/memory album supply store

Parents are welcomed!
I like the idea with the Photo album, I like to look at past and an autograph book.
I also like taking a journal along so I can write down my day, which now that I look at mine I laugh and remember the fun Disney moments with my family.
I agree with testtrack321 by his saying of watching Nickolodean and Disney for insporation. I hope I was some help! Have a great Christmas and trip!

I like the photo album idea. It is cool since DD will get a camera before ya go!
