Those are amazing costumes. It's a great skill to learn. Wish I had remembered that skill I learned from Boy Scouts. She's a lucky girl.

Stumbled upon this thread this morning and it made me smile! I had posted a photo of my sewing projects just yesterday Here's what I've been working on for our disneyland trip in two weeks

Here was the last time we went to WDW in 2012

When I found out I was pregnant the first time and that it was a girl I can remember turning to my hubby and saying. " we are taking her to WDW and she will have a dress for everyday!" Well we went in 2010 and I only managed to do one minnie dress and store boughts the rest of the days . I vowed that when we return in 2012 there would be only a store bought in BBB day.

Wow!! Your talent amazes me!!

Those are amazing! I need to start learning how to use the sewing machine I got from my mom. I would love to learn to make amazing things like those dresses.

Will you please share what fabric you used to make the Pocahontas costume? Thanks
It's just a quilters cotton for the main part of the dress and the fringe trim belt and necklace are all wool felt (no need for finished edges just cut into fringe with no fraying). She had this for animal kingdom (we met Pocahontas there and got a "twins" photo) the cotton made for quick drying and the wool felt is naturally water repellent so kali river rapids were not a problem. The best part it looked great and cost less then $8 to make!
