"Mom, it's really pretty here" (Wht Mtns, NH)

Just came home from our 5days in the White Mtns, NH. As we were driving up DS said to me "Mom, it sure is pretty here". Im glad he appreciated where we vacationed.
We had a great time - Lost River, Flume, Basin, Clarks Bears, Polly's Pancakes, Cannon Tram.
The Jack O Lantern was a great place to stay. The outdoor & indoor pools, townshare homes, rec hall were in the front of the property with the golf course out behind. There's 2 ponds - ducks, swan, frogs, turtles. One night we fed a mom duck and her 4 ducklings right from our porch!
We enjoyed our vaca and cant wait to return next yr

For now its time to plan our Hampton Beach vaca (leave in 2wks)
and to book our PSs at Chef Mickey's & O'Hana's!

Yes, the white mountains of New Hampshire are one of my favorite places to vacation. We will be up there this Friday for a few days in the same area you were. We were thinking of visiting the "Lost River" gorge. That's one place we have never been. Did you like it? Will kids 8,5 like it?

We used to go there all the time as kids (mom hated to fly - we drove everywhere)...now my brother lives in NH and visits the Mtns all the time. Loved hiking through gorges and stuff! too fun!

Had your kids ever seen the man in the mountain...too bad he's gone now...that was always pretty cool.

My dad's favorite thing to do was hunt for moose. And I mean - park on the side of the road and wait for a moose to walk by just to see it.


Yes - this is why I go to Disney so much as an adult - my entertainment as a child was squating for moose. hehehe

Glad you had fun! Think I need to talk DH into going up there...find a place we can bring our dog and hike/relax for a week!

I love New Hampshire. We've been there many times in the winter but only once in the summer and I'd love to go back. It is so beautiful and the air is so fresh.

We've stayed at the Jack-O-Lantern! It's in a great spot, isn't it?

We have such nice family memories there, both as a child and with our own children. Thanks for sharing.

I'm going up there in a few weeks. We're staying at Woodward's. I love it up there! I think New Hampshire is such a beautiful state.

I'm going to be at Hampton Beach in 2 weeks (just for the day though). Here's hoping for good weather!

I love the white mountains also. DH and I used to hike a lot up there when we were dating (but then got married and lazy ).

My FIL has a cabin about 1 hour north of there and we go up just about every weekend. Really enjoying the ATV season right now!
