I hope I get to meet up with dis-sers and continue the "Tiara Tea" tradition someday!
Hi Disneyland Mama, We should meet up sometime and do mini DIS meet here! It could be a tiara something (nothing as exciting here as GF tea though).

Let me know if you are interested. Maybe we can get some of these gals to head out west for a vacation here, hehe. :cool1:

Speaking of which, me thinks I'm heading to Anaheim tomorrow, haven't been outta the house since Wed., getting cabin fever.

Subbing. I was looking for GMaxMom's tr and found this. Man I got a lot of catching up to do.

DisneyLand Mama and Fenfur, Thanks for reading! I would love to see Disney World one day! I guess I need to start researching that! I think it would be great to meet up out there!

PaMom - see ya when ya get back! :wave2:

GASSSSSPPPPPPPPPP!!!! (coming up for air). I've copied the TR up to pg. 7 post 94. Good Golly Gal!! I haven't even begun reading yet. Thankfully I'm a fast reader.

:cool1: :cool1: :Pinkbounc My dear Gmax,
Looking at your pictures there can be no doubt in my mind you are your fathers child. The pictures are beautiful. I even look good in some of them. You planned everything so nice and professional you may have a new job.

The rides ,food, sight seeing and everything was perfect. I don't want to give away the rest of my report so I'll leave it like this. My gift to you should tell how much I enjoyed the trip. when I finish my report you will know what I mean.

Thanks for your help with my posting.

1. Thanks for noticing that there is no Black princess. When I have brought this up both here and on (I THINK) wdwmagic, I got totally yelled at, and even stalked around the boards saying that Disney should not have to please anyone. That the Princesses are white, and that I and any of my future daughters need to accept that. People also said how some of the voices of the ANIMALS in the Lion King were done by Black actors so I should be happy about that.!

No one should be giving you a hard time about this Glenda. I think it is an obvious oversight - or has been avoided for some reason. Disney has used a lot of Black actors in various projects. They know enough people to get the advice they need to make this a reality IMO, Whoopie, Samuel L. Jackson, Brandy........etc...... I think they could do something about this if they wanted to - a Story set in Africa with people....perhaps.... pixiedust:

Have not finished reading ALL the report - but just wanted to speak to that! :surfweb:

I've noticed that, too, and it really makes no sense. I think Disney needs to look into hiring GMax and GMom to be the black princesses! :thumbsup2

:goodvibes Isn't she the cutest gal???

OH! my two cents on the black princess topic...They NEED to do a African American Princess!!!! They also need a Latino Princess!!! EVERY little girl needs to look in the mirror and see that they are daughters of a King (God) so they are Princesses! I've had dozens of little foster daughters of every skin color...and in my home and in my arms they WERE princesses. princess:

I truly can't believe anyone would be so shallow minded as to tell you that you should be satisfied with having voice overs done by black actors. How rude is that?

And NOT all the princesses are white. I can't believe they said that either! What about Jasmine and Mulan? Mulan might not be considered a princess but Jasmine is. Why doesn't Disney extend the princesses to include a few more cultures???

My baby daughter who is 1/4 Japanese, was at the age of 3 already being brainwashed into thinking that she has to be blond like Cinderella. I finally got her to like Jasmine who looks more like her. We point out how pretty her hair and eyes are like Jasmine and like Boo on Monsters, Inc. BTW Her nickname is boo! But at least I have someone to point to that looks like her. :guilty:

I agree that Disney could go out of their way to make an african american princess. How hard could it be to come up with a storyline? They're Disney for goodness sakes. I believe that we are being brain washed as a society that says, "If you want to be accepted you must look a certain way." I say carp and codfish!

Disney could and should step up to the plate and set the standard.

Okay my soapbox is put back under the bed... :rotfl:

Thanks Ladies for understanding how I feel about the Princesses. Believe me, you are in the minority on this issue. Even though it IS 2006, people still have issues, and feel the need to "protect" certain institutions. (oh the stories I could tell about our Disney vacations, and others . . .)

At any rate, I FINALLY got my house in some order, so now I'll have time to go through the Disney pictures, and make addtional posts!

See ya later! Thanks for lurking! :wave2:

I totallly forgot about something I did on our last day.

We went to Downtown Disney to go to World of Disney. We got there about 15mins early, and sat on a bench facing the water. There were about 6 others sitting around as well. In true Disney fashion, there was music piped in, and the Mickey Mouse Club song came on. So I started moving my arm as if I were directing a band. Then I told my Mother to march around. She said "No, YOU march around"! I said "okay", and I got up and marched around to the beat of the music in a circle, with a BIG smile on my face! I caught a lady looking at me, and she was trying NOT to laugh! When I sat down, my Mother cracked up! Only in Disney can you get away with something like this!

Gmax,
After reading your trip report I can so see you marching around to the Mickey Mouse Club song. I think that is GREAT!!

I am also looking forward to your future postings of your pictures, I have really enjoyed your photographic talents.

I loved your report - I have been a lurker for sometime now. Your mother seems just wonderful. How awesome it would be to get to meet fellow disers at the World.

Gmax - if I had been there with you, I would have been up marching right behind you. Of course my DH and Dkids would completely disown me. :rotfl: That's ok, they think I'm crazy. Maybe I will get a chance to march with you in the future. :yay: Can't wait to hear that music in person. :hourglass

That's the true Magic of Disney ...you can leave all your cares behind and enjoy yourself and no one the to tell you how to behave , like back here in the real world ...I would have liked to join in too !!!
And ditto with the Princesses...I too wonder why no Black princess in WDW Today :sad2: . They certainly should have one!!! All girls (and us grown up girls ,too) need role models and something to look up to! :thumbsup2

:wave2: GlendaMax,

As usual I have come late to TR party! And it was a doozie! :thumbsup2

First and foremost, I am so HAPPY that the "Tiara Tea Totalling Tootsies" didn't take you out back and put a WHACK on you! ;) By the looks of the pics there was 'um one of them, who 'um had that 'Miss Scarlett with the Candlestick in the Conservatory" look about her. UM! Though I won't say who it was! :sad2: (NOT ME...Cant make me talk!)

What a delightful TR this was. I have so many comments to make....and here they go.....

Mom KNOWS best! (at least they think they always do). Funny but no matter how 'mature' I get my Mom does the same things to me. For instance I have been driving for over 25 years now. Never had a accident or a ticket. My Mom NEVER drove a day in her life. However she is compelled to tell me what I am doing wrong when she is in the car with me! :confused3 Go figure.

I can't believe ALL the Disers you met!!!! Wow I never met any! Then again...maybe most of us go ONLY through FREE DINING TIMES! :rotfl:

Praying on EE, cracked me up! I do that on the Teacups & airplanes!

DEEP FRIED OREOS!!!!! I GOTTA KNOW THE RECIPE! Its a matter of life & death!

Tea at GF! Great idea! Whose idea was that?

How can you complain about Mickey's Philamagic!
hips.gif

WHAT HAPPENED WITH FANTASMIC????? They don't come out in Boats at the end anymore??????? They did in July??? OH NO!

Towel Art :thumbsup2 We got 3 in a 10 night stay this time. Last year 6 in a 6 night stay! (pop century)

COP is my ultimate favorite too!

Lights, Motor Action...I am in total agreement with you!

"Narnia Coats, Narnia Coats" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You had your FIRST :mickeybar ? On this trip??????

Hey we say "Goodbye" to the parks too...and add "See Ya next year!"

Leasons Learned :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Me Like them!

GRRRRRRRRRREAT TR!!!!! Funny read!

And YES YES YES YES....It is way beyond time for Disney to produce a Black Princess! Until they do, you are just gonna have to wear that Tiara ALL THE TIME!

Thanks for the TR!

I love this Gmax. What fun!!! My family would have joined in with you...well...maynot DH. You can bet my kids would have been right in there. You and your mom are so much fun. If you ever come to Atl. you have to look me up!!!

As far as the black princess goes...you are absolutely right. I do not get that. I can't believe they don't. :confused3
We all need to write a letter commenting and questioning them on this. Why? Every other group seems to be represented with the exception of a hispanic princess and Disney also needs that!!! I agree 100% that every little girl needs someone they identify with when they look in the mirror. I think it is downright crazy!!!!!

 Ya!!!

I will have to get to Downtown Disney early when I go next month so I can hear the Mickey Mouse Club song and march around just for u Gmax.
