I just talked to my sister and my decided that it was best for everyone if she does not have a funeral for my dad. He is being cremated. My sister told me that she is not doing well. She is refusing to eat and answer the phone. She does not want anyone near her right now.

I am going back to Pittsburgh to be with my family for a few days. Not too sure mom will want to see me ,but at least I will be able to see my sisters.

I am having a hard time sleeping and worry about my mom, but that is to be expected I guess.

A funeral is a very stressful, heartrenching, taxing affair. Perhaps a personal memorial later?

Your poor Mom...

Let her give you the cues as to how to approach her. Right now she might need space then she'll ask why won't anyone come and stay with her... it's never predictable, she's just trying to get through this.

I will pray for all of you. Everyone grieves differently, all each one needs is for everyone else to be patient.

God bless,

Robnrs

You need to do what works for your family.

Yes, funerals are very hard, but I agree that some sort of service would be nice.

As painful as they are, funerals help bring some small sense of closure that can aid in the healing process.

{{{hugs}}} I'm sure your family will appreciate your visit.
