Hi. As you can see from my counter, our trip is coming up quickly :cool1: I have ready the Unoffical Guide three times cover to cover and I still don't know what type of touring plan I should do for each park! We want to see all the major attractions within reason (dd5 is 44" tall but not fond of scarey stuff). Do we really need to follow a touring plan in order to see the things we want? Should I just kinda make a list of the attractions we would just hate missing and go for those? I want this to be a nice fun mommy & me trip. April 3 through 8 are listed in the guide as crowd levels of 4. I was there last year June 9 through 14 and it was pretty darn crowded and that was listed as a level 6. any thoughts? Am I over thinking this?

Thanks.

Whether the touring plans work or not, I feel that it's always best to wing it most of the time. Following a rigid schedule can lead to unnecessary stress.

Anyway, in MK, you're going to wanna hit Fantasyland first, then maybe Toontown, Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland, a couple things in Frontierland, and then Adventureland. That being said, if you think there's any interest in your DD wanting to go on Big Thunder Mountain or Splash Mountain, you're going to want to either A) pick up a Fastpass for one of them while riding the other first thing in the morning; or B) Hit Fantasyland first, then grab Fastpasses for either BTMRR or Splash while you're exploring Frontierland and/or Adventureland.

As for crowds...I was there over my college spring break one year, but my friends and I weren't stressed out over hitting everything. That being said, it was the week after Easter and I thought it was gonna be a whole lot more packed than it was...Then again, MK was closed due to capacity issues one night....Anyway, not trying to scare you. I don't know when Easter falls this year. If you're going the week after or before, be prepared for crowds. Other than that, you should be okay. Even if it's packed, you'll still have fun.

Once you think about your plans a little more, post again for some more specific info.

I see from your counter that you have been before. So, you have some idea of what the layout is. When my dd and I had a mother/daughter trip we were very laid back. I would suggest that you make a list of the things you really want to do. Has your dd seen the Birnbaum book for kids? My dd gets a new one every trip. That way she can look at it and feel like she's helping in the decision making process. And you'll know better what she will want to do.

Be laid back about it. WDW isn't going anywhere. The fact that you are just having a good time with dd is more important than anything!!! Don't feel pressured to 'do it all'. Make a few PS for those 'special' meals with her. Where would she like to eat? I think that sometimes we get too hung up on doing it all each trip. Better that you miss an attraction or two but have a relaxed trip...with no urgency about not missing something!

Have a wonderful time. I love mother/daughter trips.
