Cast: Karen and Brian (Mom and Dad), Emily (10 3/4), Noah (6 3/4), Halle (3 11/12), Joel (2)
This report is from memory.... so forgive me if there isn't enough detail.
Sunday, Oct. 6: We took the monorail from the TTC to Epcot. Had a bit of a wait to get in, but we made it in just as the character bus was unloading by the Leave a Legacy monuments. Terk was our first character.... can't remember the next, but seems we had seen most everyone else on that caravan. Noah and Halle were invited to sit in the bus and got to honk the horn to tell the characters it was almost time to load back up. Noah was given a certificate as honorary bus driver. We took pictures of him, Halle and Joel wearing the bus driver's cap.
Grabbed a stroller, parked it and walked right on to Spaceship Earth. Then we headed to Test Track for FPs, and on to the Wonders of Life. Kids played around a bit... we went to the Cranium Command show, then I hung out with the 2 little ones while Brian, Emily and Noah did Body Wars. I wanted to do The Making of Me, but every time I checked, they said it was 12 minutes till the next show. I could never get back in time to catch the show. I really wanted to watch it with the kids. It's been several years since I've seen it.
Time to hit Test Track for our FPs. We were doing a child swap on this one. I got to go first with the 2 oldest kids. Even with our FP, it took about 15-20 minutes to get on, as they kept having "technical problems." This was our first time ever on this ride. LOVED it! I won't ride rollercoasters, but I really liked this one. Would have bought our picture, but we were in the front seat and the kids' faces were obscured by the top of the windshield. Emily and Noah rode it again with Brian. He liked the ride too. We're looking forward to riding it together some day!
Headed to Ice Station Cool. Kids loved tasting the drinks. Emily actually likes Beverly; she thinks it tastes like bubble gum. GAG!
Went to Alfredo's in Italy for lunch. Food was just OK. Our waiter was new and told us we were his second table. Joy, joy. Noah had a melt down at the end of the meal. Brian ended up taking the kids outside while I waited for the check. When I got outside, they were watching the Masquerade players. Got some lovely pictures of them after the show, giving Joel all kinds of attention. One of the ladies held him and carried him around to the others. At one point, Joel didn't want to get back into the stroller, and the "King" just took him by the hand and walked him back to the stroller... Joel climbed in as cooperatively as you please!
We walked back through Britain and Canada.... headed to the Universe of Energy. Joel and Halle both fell asleep during the ride/show. It was almost 3:30 by this time. We took the monorail back to TTC (that monorail ramp at Epcot seems endless carrying a sleeping kid!), then switched monorails to get back to the Poly. Kids stayed asleep after we put them down. Grabbed some snacks from the lounge, then I read a book while Brian and the others went for a swim. Kids slept until around 5:30 or so.
Rest of the evening is a blur.... not sure if we went over to the MK or not. Either way, it ended like most nights... Disney Channel till lights out.
