Hey everyone, it's my turn to brag on DD5yrs (and DH too!)
New Orleans is pretty Mardi Gras crazy, even beyond what you see on TV! DD's school does a "Pre-K Mardi Gras Extravaganza." A King and Queen and royal court are selected, then each child is assigned a character and the family has to build a float for that character. These are 4-5 year olds doing this!!
Some of these floats get out of control. Some families even hire the professional float builders in town to build their child's float.
At least we did not do that!
Anyway, DD's character was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, so DH built her float on a wagon (per the rules!). Her float was Dorothy's house just after it landed in OZ, complete with the witch's legs sticking out from under the house. After float judging was complete (86 floats), DD came in 2nd in the Most Humorous category! She was so happy. She didn't care what category, but she was happy to win a prize. I guess the witch's legs took it from cute to humorous!
