Well, this is my first report of any kind and thought.....ok here we go. 
The Group:
Me - Divorced 44 yo mom of two teenagers. I have been to WDW several times as a youth, we lived in Apopka.
William - 16 who is a Disney nut (raised him right!)
Alex - 13 (looking forward to RoRC) and wants to be a chef so all about the food.
Trip:
We will be leaving the Northwest burbs of Chicago on 8/14 and driving to WDW to arrive at the hotel on 8/17. Staying at POP until 8/25 with of course the free dining package!
So this is the trip that has been planned for every year since the boys were first there in 2005. That was right after my divorce and the ex (their father) never went on vacations, so it was our treat and ok----a snub in his face we could go.
This December I decided that MOM needed a break a lot more than the kids did, and since we have been through more than anyone should have to go through on a personal basis I decided enough was enough and booked it. Initially it was booked for June 15 - 22 of this year for the 4/3 promo. Then my dad got sick and decided I just didn't want to leave at that point in case something happend. Yes, I know something can always happen but at that time we didn't know if he would live or die.....so postponed.
But hey, that's all right - that's ok we got free dining anyway!!!!
So during this year I have been putting together our "WDW Bible" and it's done now. That is kind of bittersweet, planning is fun - but it also means that the time is approaching till we leave.
We did our ADR's and got everything we wanted and pretty much the times we wanted as well. Just haven't been able to tweak those as I have learned with Free Dining everyone wants to eat.
So our plans:
Saturday, August 15
Leave the house around 7:30ish, driving through Louisville and stopping at Lynn's Paradise Cafe for lunch. Oh did I mention we are HUGE Foodnetwork fans? You will see in our PTR and our Report after our stay what I mean....
After lunch drive through to Nashville, get off the highway for a jont and eat at the Neely's BBQ place. Proceed and stay the night in Chattanooga.
Sunday, August 16
Get up, eat breakfast and see Ruby Falls/Lookout Mountain.
Drive to Atlanta - Visit World of Coke
Eat at the Varsity
Perhaps see Gone with the Wind exhibit
Drive through GA and stay in Mt. Dora Florida on US 441
Monday, August 17
Get up, eat breakfast and drive past the old house - I think I remember the one!
Arrive at POP - Check in and go straight to MK
That night we have ADR's at O'Hana at 5:15 pm - then back to MK.
