So last year while at DW I got a small blister and bought moleskin in the gift shop of the resort. Only to discover we had nothing to cut it with!

So do you usually cut some pieces ahead of time to take, or do you pack small scissors?

i used to bring small scissors. i no longer bring moleskin. you arent supposed to apply it to a blister, you apply it before, but who knows before that you are going to get one? so instead i use blister block 2-3 times a day. i just went last week. wore teva mush flip flops with blister block and never once had a blister or even achey feet.

I carry scissors slightly larger than the tiny manicure size. Moleskin is best used to prevent a blister. Moleskin should not go over the irritated area or blister. Cut a ring big enough to go around the irritated area/blister to keep your sock or shoe/sandal from rubbing. In the alternative, stick it to your shoe over the part that's irritating your foot. Sorry for the sore foot!

I had some which I precut, but it seems we all needed a different size, so I now carry a pair of children's Fiskar sissors in my bag. I also use them for cutting packages open and tags off.

Sissors are on my 'must have' list.

I keep a pr. of one-inch folding scissors on my key ring. You can pick them up at the notions section of any fabric store for about $1.
They are allowed under TSA rules, so you needn't worry about taking them on a plane.

They look like this:

Prior to leaving, I cut it into various sizes and put them in a baggie that goes in my bag. Works great for me!

I started getting a hardened sore spot on some of my toes after a few days of walking. I went and bought one of the only two items the AKL store offered. I chose the moleskin. I went back to the room and realized it was very hard to cut. I used nail clippers. It was the only thing I had --- but it worked.

P.S. Moleskin really does work. I would put them on in the morning, and I would be fine! No boo boo's.

I swear by 'em now.

I pack a very small pair of scissors with my cosmetics because you never know when you will need a pair. I also swear by moleskin, while at disney I apply them to any "pressure points" I have in my sneakers and I can walk all day in comfort. Great invention. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I found a blunt nose pair of small scissors I am going to pack in our checked luggage.

Make sure you bring a few to the parks with you. That way, as soon as it starts hurting, you can put it on. You'll immediately see where your pressure points are. Then, after the first day, you can put them on in the appropriate place first thing before you leave to go to the parks.

Have fun!

I was planning on getting some mole skin at Walmart, but before I got there I went into a L.L.Bean store. They had a small pack of various sized pieces in sort of a travel pack. I figured it will work well since everybody has trouble with cutting it. I leave in 12 days do I will let you all know. I think you could probably get it in any sports store.

I also cut it in advance in various sizes and put it in a ziploc bag inside my purse/bag. By the middle of the day I know if I (or anyone else) needs one and we can put them on at the park. I leave some whole as well that way we can cut them when we get back to the room if we find we need smaller or bigger pieces. HTH!

I found myself at the parks with moleskin and sore feet, but no scissors. So I asked a cashier at the gift shop, and she was happy to share her scissors with me.

As I've posted earlier, I SWEAR by moleskin. But how exactly does it work? I mean...it's so thin.

Just wondering.....

I cut it into pieces (various sizes) before I go, so I don't have to mess with scissors.

I found an even better product, though -- the BandAid blister blockers! You can actually apply them to a blister, or a "hot spot". These are great - they're much more easy to apply than moleskin (they bend around your feet much more easily) and stay on for a couple of days. Give it a try!
