Mojito Monkey Mama's 2 cont'd

I've learned to really like Freecycle to help give and take versus tossing a lot of stuff. I don't usually GET things from there- but I got a dog igloo for the backyard (delivered even!) which normally costs $150 for FREE from a kind lady who just wanted it out of her yard. Of course, my dumb crew rarely uses it- but on occasion, they realize that when rain falls- they can go in the igloo and stay dry (it doesn't rain often here so maybe that's why they can't figure it out!). I have this elliptical machine which I like and I've used quite well, but I don't have room for it now that the shrunk is here- I may offer that up on Freecycle. I've done a lot of kid things on there- knowing that a lot of families can't afford the stuff we've bought when the baby was a baby (Course, I could use them BACK now- LOL!) so I figure Freecycling is like giving back.

ACK! It's too early! My sister called me at 6:30 and I can barely see, my eyes are so bleary!

Something cute though- my 2 1/2 year old is starting to love OLD Disney movies and I'm loving playing them for him. Last night, he watched 'Peter Pan' about 4 times in a row (I was trying to finish a good book and he was cuddled up next to me) before falling asleep. The other week, he decided he loved 'Bambi'! Now I just have to figure out how to hook up the VCR so he can see of the other older movies... He ALSO loves 'Meet the Robinsons' and man, I LOVE that movie too! If you haven't seen it- you have to, it's hilarious@!

We bought new living room furniture yesterday. Just as we have each time we've ever shopped for furniture, we ended up fighting about it. We only needed a sofa & a chair. I wanted leather, he wanted reclining sofa. Trust me when I tell you that he's never, ever mentioned wanting a recliner before. Yesterday he says that he's wanted one his entire life. Did I marry a 7 year old boy!?! I wanted leather because its more durable and easier to keep clean. With two dogs and a 6 yo DD, that's important to me. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a reclining leather couch that had a matching chair within our budget. He finally told me to just pick whatever I wanted & headed over to Best Buy. Sigh... I certainly know that "do whatever you want" doesn't really mean that. So, I spend another 30+ minutes combing the store with my impatient daughter. I finally spot a couple cream leather chairs in one section that look amazingly like a reclining leather couch on the other side of the store. This couch is part of a big sectional sofa display but only comes with a matching love seat. I find another sales person to check the numbers on the tag and find out it the same manufacturer & dye lot. This could be it!! I call hubby back over & explain I've found the perfect compromise. He tries out the chair I'd selected & makes the same "WOW" face & sound that I did upon sitting in it. It's fabulous! We'll get it delivered this week & I can't wait! I'll post a picture ASAP. Last night he did tell me thank you & that he was really happy that I'd kept looking and had been able to find something that suited us both. That's as close to an apology as I'm going to get, so I'll take it.

Congrates on buying the new furniture. We have a leather set here and let me just say the dogs love to eat it our male has chewed up the leather chair we have.

Hi to everyone else sorry I haven't been keeping up as much with my business poor Mike has to ask for me to pencil him into my schedule now :rotfl: :rotfl2: I will try and do a better job of posting more often.

Hi girls:grouphug: Little time-less money-no sense, seems to sum up my life lately:sad2: You know things are bad when our 8yr old checks the CDC site everyday for germ alerts:rotfl2: I sooooo need some sun, heat and warmth. My little part time job is taking over and hindering my little jaunts. Miss chatting with you, hope all is well.

Hope everything gets better with you and your family Bonz I miss ya!!! I just figured you were on the "other" thread and didn't want to talk to us anymore:rotfl2: :lmao:

Here is some pixie dust for you pixiedust: pixiedust: maybe this will help in getting you to go to WDW again SOON!!!

Moring Gals,

Gonna be a long day here Luca (our male greyhound) has been sick all weekend and hasn't eaten or drank anything and he is been throwing up also so off to the vets we go for possible hospitalization we will see.

I hated to leave him with just Mike over the weekend but I had a Bridal Fair and a cake tasting that I had to attend and I felt so bad leaving my little boy so sick at home and now its raining outside YUKKK!!!

Anyways Gals please have a great day and I will talk with you as soon as I can.

well at least your crazy bride isn't like the one I had thank god for that.

Oh I wanted to tell you all that she made the statement to my cousin that I was "unprofessional" by sending a letter registered to her to inform her that I was no longer her Bridal Consultant :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: Can you believe that one???

So she thinks your un-professional huh? Wow, she's quite the piece of work! You're better off without her Pooh....she probably would have never paid you anyways! :scared:

Yeah thats what I am thinking so I am I kicked her to the curb.

DisneyAprilFool, you are totally right that life is not fair. For myself, I am glad it is not when I think of all the things I deserve that I did not get. :rotfl2: I do think you might have made a mistake in not letting your hubby wander onto DW property. A small taste might have made him hungry for more and he would have insisted that you immediately start planning a family trip. :confused3

janjandis, I know. I was just yanking your chain about me not remembering you. Tom will be 74 this year and for the first time in our marriage he has started looking his age. Retirement can be a very bad thing if you do not have any interests. I no longer call him 'Old Man' cause it ain't funny any more. :sad2:

Pooh, for a woman who does not have a ring YET, you sure do have the other plans all worked out and nicely I might add. Hooray on getting the exclusive AND for being so very 'professional' in sending the letter registered. It is always good to have proof. :thumbsup2

Mom2Evie, you would have to tie me UP to get me to go to Universal.

wic0721, did you have trouble getting enough singles for the bachelorette party? Did you survive the party??? :worship:

I have a date with a good looking, intelligent and much younger man this evening. My youngest grandson is coming to spend the night while his parents party (bowling). We talk world events and he has been giving me a synopsis of his report on Massachusetts. I am in awe of the wide variation of famous folks he chose to talk about from Ben Franklin to Dr. Suess. He is interesting. Much better company than I usually have.

SG/Linda

Hey SG, Yes...I survived the bachelorette party! We left at 8:00 Saturday night, and I didn't get home until 3:30 Sunday morning! (hey they moved the smilies icons around again):scared: I was soooo tired yesterday, when I woke up I looked at my husband and informed him that I had no intentions of cooking at all yesterday! So, he took us out to brunch, then he changed the oil in my car and later in the day he made subs for us! :love2: I also paid my daughter $2 to fold a load of towels for me, so I could take a nap...yeah I know bad mommy! :rotfl2:

It sounds like you have a great grandson SG!!!! He chose a great state to do his report on! :thumbsup2

Could Luca have chewed up and swallowed something? If you aren't there already, get her to the vet ASAP. It sounds like, from what you described, an intestinal blockage- which is very serious. Of course, it might be something else- but I never quibble over these things since I lost a dog to a blockage once (idiot vet misdiagnosed it). If they ask if you want to do a barium series of xrays, I'd go for it.

GL with your baby!

no didn't chew anything but he had this once before and he had to be in the hospital then too.

just got back and he is in the hospital and will be there until tomorrow at least, they will try and give him some water later today and of course he will have an IV now and then maybe some bland food tonight and if all goes well he will come home tomorrow but it depends on the blood work also.

Hi everyone,
I haven't been around lately because we had a death in our family. My younger brother got hit by a car while he was riding his bike. They had him on life support but he was never going to recover since his brain was dead and only the machines were keeping him alive. Man that is something I hope nobody ever had to go through. This week we are still dealing with all the things that go along with it. I just thought I would stop by and say hello to all my disney friends since it has been a while. It's nice to take a break and think about good things for a change.

Oh no.!

Angela how old was your brother, I'm so sorry for your loss! That's horrible! I hope the person who drove the car stopped, and it wasn't a hit and run accident!

Thanks for the concern. Having worked in a hospital I do know this happens every day but it is so shocking when it happens to you. My brother was 37 and I am a year and a few months older. He was slow mentally so me and our 36 year old brother always guided him along so we were really close. The nice thought is that he will no longer be slow and need help through life.

The driver was a 25 year old who was in a hurry to get to work. My brother did swerve in front on him but in my opinion he still saw him and should have slowed or stopped and given him plenty of room to go where he was going just like he would have had my brother been driving a car. It was not a hit and run and they actually had to lift the car off him which amazingly did not break even one bone in his body. In a way I can feel for the driver in the sense that he will have to live with having killed someone for the rest of his life and I know I would never want to be in that position either.

The hardest decisions and times are past now and now we have arrangements to make. We decided to take today and make time to rest and spend time with our own families. Since in a way I see this as my extended (Disney) family I thought I would post what was happening here.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and pixie dust they send our way.

Angela

Oh Angela... My hubby's family went through something similiar, except their youngest decided to take his own life, and ended up on life support with no ability to recover... It was horrendous to live through- I am just so sorry and you have my thoughts and prayers headed your way :(

Oh Angela, I am so very sorry for your loss. Take comfort in the fact that your Disney family here is thinking about you. :grouphug:

Oh please don't tell me that! Neithe of our dogs have chewed on anything for years. They're both getting up there in age, 13 years old or so. I'm hoping they don't suddenly develop a bad habit. Now I'm afraid I'll come home one day to find my couch cushions disemboweled on the floor!

I'm so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
