A couple of months ago I dyed my hair black (stupid mistake). Yesterday I had the color lifted and went to a honey blonde. Unfortunately, now my hair is extremely damaged. What's a good moisturizer to keep my hair from breaking?

I like the Aussie line. Leave it in with a shower cap on for a while
I also use leave in conditioners. Pantene has one you leave in all the time.
My hair is very dry, coarse and curly -sometimes I use ethnic hair care products on there- it tends to be more oily than the products made for caucasian hair.

Humectress by Nexus. Its an excellent conditioner. A fairly thick one, that rinses out easily and leaves your hair soft, shiney, and tangle free. You can also put a dab on your hands and run it through dry hair to get rid of fly aways or dry, damaged looking hair.

I was thinking about that one. Nexus also makes something called "Emergencee". I was thinking about getting that as well.

Hi, I'm a hairdresser/salon owner:) The problem w/ lifting all the chemical processes is lacking moisture, but also...lacking protein. You need a good protein shampoo and then probably a hydrating conditioner. The protein shampoo will put back in your hair what you've lost with the chemical processes. You should be able to use any shampoo for color treated hair (I just put a new line in my salon called Pravana--I love it). The hydrating masque which would be like a deep conditioner works excellent. And I love the shampoo for color treated hair. As for stuff you can purchase in say a drug store, I've heard that John Frieda products work well.

I like the Aussie Root Cleanser/Tip Mender. The honest truth tho is you are going to have damaged hair and will only be able to make it look better, not be better until it grows out and you cut it off. I am sorry. We have all done stuff like this before.

I keep a tub of L'Oreal "Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture Deep Conditioner" in the shower at all times. (I buy it at Sally's Beauty Supply)

DH has bleached his black hair blonde ( :faint: ) and it was fairly dry...he uses this once or twice a week.

Also - whenever I color my hair and it feels dry...I use this...excellent for adding some moisture back in.

It's sold in 3 sizes...a tube, and 2 different sized tubs...the most expensive tub is, I think, $12. And it lasts a fairly long time.

This stuff worked MUCH better for me than the Frederic Fekkai hair mask stuff.

I have naturally curly hair that I have flat ironed every day (sometimes twice a day) for almost 10 years now. I have tried everything in the book to keep my hair healthy and the one that seems to work the best is a leave in spray condition... Matrix Instacure. A big bottle is about $15 and I get it at Ulta... it lasts me awhile.

there was always something about Mary

in my experience different products work for different people. you may have to experiment before you find something you really like. my hairdresser raved about a product so i bought it but it was horrible for my hair.

i use aussie products (including wash out conditioner) and tresemme leave in conditioner (spray).

My sister has dry hair from being overprocessed and she swears by biolage leave in conditioner and Nexus' humectress.
I have the opposite problem so I can give a personal endorsement.

I love women with healthy sexy hair
